This is the icon for Leon with a LIon atop an arch. This arch for the heros of Mexico is a stand out for this city. The arch has long walkway up to it that leads to a bridge called the "Bridge of Love" that couple put locks on to show their love. There are romanesque small statues that line... More

An awesome sight to see with a lion roaming at the top of the arc. We were fortunate to see it lit up at night located at a family friendly walking zone we walked through THE BRIDGE OF LOVE that includes trendy coffee shops, artisanal Mexican local ice cream shop etc. a must see!

Name of the city is precisely LEON which means LION therefore it is the most representative Icon of the city. Not a huge size but enough to impress anyone who likes architecture.

Nice area to walk and check out a few restaurants. No parking near the blvd. Grounds are very well taken care of, but the cafe's look old and not very appealing to eat, but maybe have a few drinks.

This is in the historic downtown district. A nice place to walk, a small row of local crafts such as handmade clothes, scarves, lotions, candies. A few nice bars with outside patios along this route. Can walk a few blocks between here and the Plaza Principal, to see the main sights of Leon. Worth seeing both If you are in... More

You see one, you've seen them all. It was nice but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it. But if you go to this area (which you should), it's a nice perk.

Walk along Calle Calz. de los Hereos all the way to Francisco Madero and the Plaza Principal. You will pass the main attractions of the old city, shops and coffee places.

A must see when in Leon GTO. You can walk the "malecón", which is the beautiful boardwalk, perfect for a morning stroll or any time of day, in fact. Nice landscaping, relatively clean. Pet friendly.
