Although it is impressive, I prefer the smaller cathedral in the town center. There is a rosette stained glass window reminiscent of Notre Dame and impressive ceilings with Gothic style arches. It's just another fantastic beautiful old church in colonial Mexico. :)

The architecture is pretty incredible. Don't miss the churches of Leon. We walked to this site from Centro Historico.

E visitado el lugar montones de veces y cada una me parece majestuoso, mistico y magico. Te llena de tranquilidad. Vale la pena pasar aunque sea unos minutos dentro. This cathedral is a very large church and one with a lot of details. The architecture and details allow this church to stand out. It is very impressive sitting in the center of Leon and if in Leon you must stop to see.

Looking out the hotel window you see the magnificent piece of Architecture. We went there the following day and it was a beautiful place. If you are in Leon do not miss it. The Blessed Sacrament was exposed and we spent more than hour here.

This is one of the most phenominal examples of Colonial Mexico's diverse architecture that continues in a building that owns it fame to not being completed after so many years in construction.

This church took almost 100 years to finish. The inside is very pretty and you can see the dates each section was finished because it's carved in the stone. The stained glass is very pretty but the best part is under. In the back entrance you can visit the catacombs, which a very intricate set of rooms and corridors. I've... More

This is a beautiful church inside and out. It is not old like the other churches in Leon but nonetheless, it is worth the visit.
