My trip to Wrangel Island was made possible through Heritage Expeditions aboard the Spirit of Enderby. This remote region sees very few visitors but is a must see for wildlife lovers. The number of wildlife encounters we had on this 15 day trip was incredible....More

Heritage provides a way to get to this isolated part of the world. Definitely worth going. The leader, Russ, is experienced and dedicated; he can overcome any obstacle and does. The Russian staff does a great job. The food is not great but is edible....More

It has been a while since I travelled to Wrangel Island, but I realised that I never submitted a review, so here it goes, better late than never. I travelled to Wrangel Island aboard the Spirit of Enderby, a couple of years ago now. The...More

We travelled to Wrangel Island in August 2016 with Heritage Expeditions. They are the only company currently authorised to go there by the Russian Government and they run 3 trips each northern hemisphere summer. The ship - Spirit of Enderby - comfortable but basic, it...More

This was a once in a lifetime experience. It would be easy for Heritage to sort of 'phone it in' since they are really the only ship that goes to Wrangel Island, but they don't. They put their heart and soul into this trip and...More

Fantastic cruise to Wrangel Island on the small expeditions ship Spirit of Enderby(Professor Khromov) with Heritage Expeditions. Very rich wildlife with lots of whales, walrus and close to 100 polar bears! Interesting culture with visits to local villages of reindeer herders and inuits. Highly recommended!

The announcement came over the ship’s PA system at 3:35am: “There’s a polar bear dead ahead of us.” Within minutes passengers appeared up on deck, some still in their PJs, looking at the polar bear swimming near the ship just off Wrangel Island, in the...More

Clearly and wholeheartedly I have to say that I LOVE Wrangel Island. It was not a love at first sight, as first sight of Wrangel Island was cold, foggy, and rather deserted from wildlife. We did not just do the tour around the island with...More

I am sad to say how disappointed I was with my trip with this outfit. First, though, the New Zealand crew was nice, the "hotel" of the ship was well-run, and the food on the ship (Spirit of Enderby) was superb. The problem was that...More
