My husband and I wanted to find a new area to run on one of our days at Rocky Point. We drove out to Cholla Bay and ran the beach. It ended up being a bit hard to run because of the rockiness of the beach but we hopped and jumped and played on the rocks and then went up... More

We had rented quads and were riding them out on the peninsula and decided to check out Cholla Bay. The town itself is nice and quaint, with many pretty little houses throughout. The bays and the view were beautiful, it is definitely worth checking out.

Although it was a little rocky, we had a glorious swim and mini snorkeling expedition. We saw sergeant major and a few other fish. Very enjoyable.

Our other plans changed so we decided to explore La Cholla. It has curving sandy streets with some driveways that take you down to the beach. After Sandy Beach this wasn't impressive, but it was a nice place to check out. The tide was out so a huge expanse of the bay was open - so not as picturesque as... More

Beautiful doesn't make it. I could live here! Only one paved street but most of the area has made a great comeback. Obviously, a contractor or two went belly up during construction, but most of the homes are great.

Worth a look- and if you go and don't stop in at JJ's for a drink, a meal, and the stunning view you are missing something!

Went out to Cholla Bay for dinner and was able to sit on the rocks and watch the sunset. It was glorious. Not quite "Zadar most beautiful sunset in the world" beautiful, but close.

The beach is great, mostly dunes and motorcyle and dune buggie people visit. Drove through the residential area, lots and lots of houses for sale, not interested but interesting to see them all.

This a great bay. Close to everything but far from everything else. The locals seem to maintain it. Such a shame tourism is going to be its downfall. Grocery bags, wrappers and beer cans can be seen at a distance.
