Stayed a week on Cholla Bay in May 2018. Beautiful place with amazing beaches. Went swimming everyday and could not have been happier.

Check the tide schedule, and get out there during low tide for shelling! Found many sand dollars, shells, octopus (make sure your shells don't have any little guys living in them!) Gorgeous spot! Stop at JJ's for a bloody mary or margarita or cerveza!

We always make a point to go to JJ's when we travel to Rocky Point. Cholla Bay was one of the first parts of Rocky Point that Americans started building homes. JJ's is a land mark as one of if not the oldest bar in...More

What a beautiful place. Tucked away from the touristy spots. A quiet calm water bay. The sand is okay as it's a bit rocky. And the roads can be dusty. But bbn if you want to really get away...

Small town about 20 min from Puerto Peñasco. Americans seem to have overrun the town 🙄 and are very rude...but Choya Bay is breathtaking at sunset. Oyster Bay is very cool as well. The beach is littered with hermit crabs and you can wade in...More

If you're travelling to Puerto Penasco, Cholla Bay is worth a look. The bay is a nice location to watch the sun rise and set. Seaside homes washed in earthy pastels line the slopes above the bay, giving the site a bit of a clean,...More

When you first see it, a little dusty but it grows to a beautiful rocky, quiet, from the crowd. Slowly growing but bows the time to see before every one finds this secret. Ocean calm and crystal clear.

I've always like Cholla Bay. It's quiet and feels a bit lost in time and far from the "big city" of Puerto Penasco. JJ's is good for some fish and chips and some beers. There's a beach right there for a quick dip. Better is...More

I stayed at Cholla bay for a quick trip with my friend and her family. It was nice and quiet in the area. The beach is rocky, but when it’s low tide, there is plenty of sandy beach. When it’s high tide, there isn’t much...More

A short drive from where we stayed. Eclectic houses. Fun bar with seating on terraces with sea view. Found a great little oyster house--will come back there for a full meal.
