Stayed here one night for a friend’s wedding nearby. Beautiful castle, we got a room with an amazing view of the hills and landscape below (as castle is on a hill). The room was tight for two but cosy. Good service with some nibbles layed out in-room. Bathroom big with ok shower. We Also ate at the restaurant next to the castle. Good food in a very nicely remade old guards room or similar. Definitely Recommend if in the area!

We last had dinner here 5 years ago; it was expensive, but the food was superb as is the location. So it was with some hope that, even though the proprietor had changed, we could expect more of the same in September 2016. Alas, this was not to be. It's still expensive but the quality of the food and the way it's cooked is mediocre and not worth the money. The only saving grace was the wine, a Chianti, that was nice. It took almost half an hour to serve a Tiramisu that was pretty awful! It's not as if the place was busy, it was almost empty and thereby lacking in atmosphere. A great shame to have to write like this but if the new owner is to make a go of this place she needs to drop the price or raise the quality of her food significantly to justify the price. The following evening we went to a restaurant in Marola, a few kilometres away, and for the price of my main course in the Castello, I had three courses, wine, water and coffee and all were better cooked and quality than here.
