We visited for a day out with Thomas, staff friendly and helpful but not much to do. Ok for a couple hours, but relatively expensive for what's there.

£24 for a ride on a diesel loco , watch some fairly tatty model railway and have a ride on a tatty miniature railway. We were disappointed with our trip here with two grandichildren. We are still convinced that they charged more than was advertised. The whole place is tired and sad, scruffy and a train graveyard. Unless you are... More

I have to admit that the draw for us was Peppa Pig as our 1 year loves the programme but had Peppa not been visiting we would still have had a great day. Great value for money £9 per adult and under 3s are free with no restrictions on how many times you can ride the trains. The only down... More

It is not polished and 'Disney' but it is somewhere my now 5 year old asks to go and see again and again. The staff are always friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. On a quiet Thursday the driver let my son help with driving the Diesel engine. It made his day. After the numerous times we have been he is still... More

A nice spring day, sun out so we came to find some trains! Paid the fee, with the elderly assistant struggling to explain the simple map and listen to the radio at the same time! We got straight on the diesel train and started out journey after approximately 3 minutes we stopped and turned back again to the station! We... More

We took a chance on the weather, sunshine and showers and were glad we did! £9 for an adult buys you as many train rides on the diesel and the steam train and miniature railway as you want. There are model railways, little museum rooms, a cafe with scrummy chips and cream teas, and the volunteer staff are so enthusiastic... More

We took our children aged 6, 4 and 1 to have a train ride and visit Santa. The children loved the experience of meeting Santa and receiving a gift (one of which broke after 10 minutes of play). The whole experience was over in around 40 minutes. There is nothing else for the children to do when the train experience... More

We visited today with x2 5 year olds, a 2 3/4 year old, an almost one year old and an 8 month old and we had a great day. It was old and wet but that did not stop us enjoying the day. We visited Father Christmas, and whilst the queue was a big long and tiresome for little ones... More

I visited this quiet corner of England for the 40's event , it was lovely , an intense pattern of trains, my favourite blood and custard coaches , and plenty to do apart form ride . A nice garden railway , informative museum, a woodland wal , a model railway and some intersting stock awaiting restoration. Food was good ,... More
