Halloween was fun on the trains

We went here on Sunday with my Mum and Dad for a day out. I had purchased the 'drive a steam train' experience for my Dad for his 60th Birthday. I wasn't sure what to expect for our day out or my Dad's exprience at all. We were all greeted by the friendliest staff on arrival. My Dad went off... More

Having read some reviews we wondered if worth the 50 minute car journey with a 3 and 6 year old to visit! YES - it was worth it and we all had a fun time. Greeted by witches and given free hats, bags and activity sheets. Then walked out onto what looked like a proper old station, where the diesel... More

I was very disappointed in this day out. Car parking and entry was great. When Thomas arrived my young twins were excited to hop aboard ready to start their exciting train journey. 1 minute and 30 seconds later the train came to a halt. We waited for 10 minutes then the train began its extremely short return journey. It transpires... More

We bought a driver day for my father in law and he loved it. He got to drive the steam train and the diesel. It was a good day out everyone enjoyed watching him drive. He was really happy.

I completed the train driver experience courtesy of my wife for my 70th birthday, The Staff at CVR couldn't have been more helpful, the train driving and signal box activity was brilliant, but there are other attractions for young and old alike, if you are like me love trains, ( I model in O scale, 1:43) then this is definitely... The day of my visit there were two trains running a steam train and a diesel freight train. All trains depart the wonderful country station and head off past the signal box over the river through a wooded section of the railway to another signal box and loop where the train runs round. It then returns back through the station... More

This attraction is just down the road to us and we have taken our train mad grandson on a number of occasions. It should be marvelous but it isn't. The place is run down and not well maintained. The model railway has seen much better days and the grounds are overgrown and un cared for. My 12 year old grandson... More
