Great for body surfing, and no crowds!

The beach and water were nice, but was jammed full of tourists when we travelled there jan 2017. Full of little beach clubs , ok vibe but way to busy for us.

We recommend Xpu Ha, a short 5 min drive south of the Highway 307 entrance to Puerto Aventuras. There is a 40-80 Peso entrance fee per person, but it is a great beach in that it is wider than most others, plenty of room to set up shop without being on top of each other (tip: walk down to the... A serene escape away from the crowds and electric music of playa del carmen. We caught cab there and paid 40 pesos to enter the park (a bit weird not sure why!) There's some key low music and basic food and drink options and it's just a wonderful place to relax.

We heard of this via our travel rep - what a find, a bit of the main track but its well worth it. Entrance fee is refundable if you dine in the facilities . Lovely beach to swim in and really empty , fantastic place to go .

Are family had such a great day sitting at the beach. Restaurants have great service and included beach chairs under canvas. Wonderful day!

The speech was pristine! there were very few people so you can enjoy it all to yourself. The picture gives it much Justice the waves crashing in on a beautiful white sand breathtaking!

The beach is doing great - the same as it has been for years. The staff however is too intrusive, the lifeguards in particular. I would skip it the next time.

Entrance is just a sign to Xpu Ha Restaurant with a $31peso entrance fee, refundable if dinning at restaurant or diving. There you can rent umbrella and 2 loungers for $300peso. Also Bahia Divers on-site. A decent reef close to shore with clean water and light current in large bay. Did not see much fishes as in P. Morelos or... More

Our hotel was approx. 5 minutes down the road and we did not have a beach. This beach was quite crowded but glad we could swim somewhere. Looked like you could get food and beverages there as well
