A Day to remember
Feb 2021
Absolutely fabulous, Very reassuring, helpful and kind. We moved our new build Narrow Boat from Garstang to Braunston using Turkey's . Whole thing was like clockwork . I just kept out of way. Professionals in action

Thanks so much

Cracking circular walk ...
Oct 2020
Another walk round my favourite canal landscape. I was surprised to see the canal-side shop was open during lockdown 2.0, but it was a welcome sight. It was a bright day and the sun hung low in the sky, providing a warm light to walk the 5 mile circular route. Very enjoyable.

Quiet but far away!
Sep 2020 • Couples
We recently stayed here when we were visiting friends in Towcester on the way back to the North East from Cornwall. The site was large and all grass pitches with not many facilities such as taps and electric hookups! Not as easily accessible. There was a toilet block which was a canny trek from the caravan site and was located near the marina. One shower (in total) for all the long boats and the caravans and had to pay to use the shower. Site clearly catered more for the canal boats than caravans which was a shame since it is a Caravan Club certified site. I expected a bit more from it.

Walkers not Boaters...!
Nov 2019
Although visiting on foot rather than by narrowboat, we really enjoyed our late afternoon stroll along the towpath and around the marina. The floating cafe was closed, but probably to be expected on a damp late November Sunday afternoon. Good to see so many of the boats in use and being lived in, rather than tied up and forgotten about. Towpath was very muddy and could probably do with a bit of remedial work in the Spring....

Quality Narrowboat Marina
Nov 2019 • Couples
We come here several times a year to visit family. Everyone is so friendly. If you have a narrowboat you can get all the services you need here. If you want to buy a nb there are many and varied boats to choose from. Ask for advice if you need help. Enjoy the beautiful setting and towpath walks. The Admiral Nelson pub a little way down the towpath is well worth a visit.

Came here because of a barge that does a excellent breakfast, ended up staying all afternoon. Did a nice big walk , went to a pub for drinks. Loads of things to see. It was free to park and very interesting

Lovely place

It’s a great place to just come and walk and forget your worries just watch the boats go by. There a floating cafe just by the bridge would thoroughly recommend it

Our reason for visiting Braunston Marina was to go to the "Stop" House, where my great aunt used to live
Feb 2019
We visited Braunston Marina very recently on a visit to the area to relive some of my childhood memories. My Great Aunt and Uncle lived at the Stop where my uncle was the Lock Keeper for several years. Now it is a Canals and Rivers Trust Visitor Centre, but it has remained unchanged from the days that they lived there which would have been during the 40's and 50's, The wooden floor, the front doors, the fireplace and the strangely arranged staircases, all original, as is the very old outside loo. We found the female assistant really helpful and delighted to have met us, with our connection to the property. We got our lunch from the narrow boat moored along side and that was really good and very welcome, although we did feel a little guilty because she was really ready to close when we ordered. We went to retrace our roots but the Marina is well worth a visit whatever you are doing in the area and the Stop House is a must to enable it to continue to be used.

Fresh air and ideal for beautiful countryside walks
Jun 2018
Long weekend walking by the canals and in the countryside. Interesting to see the narrowboats so well decorated and some still used for transporting fuel etc.
