A great selection of fruit, veg and fish. Flowers were also really wonderful. The people were very helpful and gracious. I got 2 nice sunglass cases that were a special Oaxacan type of weaving. They filleted 2 red snapper for us that we bbq'd and...More

Great place to experience authentic Mexican traditional foods and restaurants. Also, fantastic place to shop for fresh fruits, vegetables, seafood, and spices. We usually visited the market a minimum of once a week. The venders re always friendly and helpful.

Having been to other markets, I found this one disappointing although large. Great selection of fruits, vegetables, meats, etc, but the rest was of poor quality for the most part. Found nothing to purchase except the amazing fresh fruit and vegetables.

One of the better markets in Mexico. Lots of fresh fish and vegetables. Bring a big mercardo bag when you go.

Do not expect a full on mercado. Buncha restos and aisles of repetitive bolsas, shirts and trinkets from China. Not one of the great mercados as in Merida (Leon) or in CDMX. Not worth the time.

The market has basically food, clothing, daily essentials ans souvenirs. I recommend souvenirs. If you want a Puerto Escondido t-shirt "El Mercado is the spot to buy"
