The bioluminescent water is a must see in Puerto Escondido, we had a great guide and a wonderful boat captain. Everything was very safe even though you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere at night.

May was our second visit to Hotel Escondido this year! In January our timing was perfect to swim in the Bio-luminus Bay! Out of this world, rare occurrence that only happens a few places in the world. Definitely a Bucket list check off! AND, our second stay at Hotel Escondido was as perfect as the first time.

If you get to do this tour you should. Amazing! Beautiful scenery that makes you appreciate disconnecting from our very chaotic cold society. Amazing tour!

Eve from Lalo Ecotours was our guide for the morning birding tour. He picked us up on time, 6:30 am from our hotel, and safely drove us in a clean air conditioned van to their business at the lagoon. We are a family of 5, and were the only ones on that morning's tour, so we loaded up in the... More

Taking a tour to see the bioluminscent plankton glow of the laguna on a moonless night is perhaps the most magical thing I have done--in my life. Floating in the laguna, water aglow, sky full of stars. An experience to remember for the rest of my life.

This is a great evening diversion for people who are spending a week or more in Pto Escondido, but if you want to see the lagoon, go on a day tour. If you want to experience nature while on this tour, ask the tour guide to tell everyone to be quiet during the swim. I went on this tour with... More

Eve with Lalo Ecotours was our guide. He is a local with very, very good English. And he has a great knowledge of the ecosystem of the lagoon. If you are not a nature lover, skip it. If you appreciate nature, very well worth the trip. I am by no means a bird watcher but I appreciate nature and leaning... More

Good for bird watching, we saw a huge flock of storks in their nesting grounds. The guide could have been more informative and taken the boat closer to some of our bird sightings. He didn't seem to slow down so we could get a good look at Green Kingfishers or other small birds.
