This is a beautiful park. We stayed in the lodge for 3 days and hiked a lot of the trails near it. There are unexcavated Mayan ruins in the park and numerous waterfalls. There's a huge variety of birds. They are hard to see in the jungle, but easy to spot in the open area near the lodge. Some of the trails are pretty challenging, while others (e.g. the Bird Loop) are fairly flat. There are hardly any people on them, so you feel like you're alone in the jungle.

Great zip lining tour! Be prepared that when driving there, the last 5 miles are on a dirt road - we were fine in a small SUV. You stop at the entrance to the park to pay $5/person, then continue along the road to the adventure center. We went with young kids (ages 6, 9 and 11) and our guides, Kevin and Roni, were so patient and kind. They went tandem with the kids on some of the longer lines and the kids were never scared at all. They loved it. It was lightly sprinkling when we went but the canopy kept us mostly dry. The zip line runs were beautiful and we hiked in between them. Afterward, we had lunch at the restaurant, Wild Fig, which was great. We were very happy with this adventure!

Beautiful rainforest setting with friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable staff. A great place for a three-generation family gathering. The teens and their parents enjoyed zip lining and rappelling down a waterfall while the adults loved early morning birdwatching and guided hikes. We got the all-inclusive package and took all our meals on site. The food was outstanding, with lots of variety, local ingredients, and accommodations for the vegetarians and gluten free eaters in our party.
