Cheap adventure with spectacular views!
Jun 2021 • Family
We visited with kids from 4-7 and we did the antelope trail (graded as steep) and we were worry warts! It was tough for them to reach the guide ropes and navigate the climb. It was just the right amount of tough for us too and we consider ourselves out of shape :) Once we got to the “pool” it was all worth it! Must wear water/ hiking shoes and bathing suit as you have to go down the way you came wet. Pack a small towel for a mini dry of after swimming and a water bottle and that’s all you really need as the time spent hiking and swimming is about 2 hours. Cost is 10 belize per person. Would recommend!

Great hikes
Mar 2020
Looking for a strenuous hike with a reward at the end? Hike to Antelope Falls. The trails offer ropes to help pull you up the steep parts. At the end is a lovely waterfall, with a Tarzan rope swing into a cool pool of spring water. The ride to the place was quite scenic along Hummingbird highway.

An absolute gem
Mar 2020
The Mayflower Bocawina park is an amazing and accessible preserve. Hiking trails range from mild to hardcore with river and jungle views, water falls, Mayan ruins and incredible flora and fauna all around. A great place to spend a few hours or an entire week.

Jungle hike to fantastic waterfall and swim pool
Mar 2020
Easy to get to from Hopkins and you don't need a tour guide. Just get a ride there or drive yourself and you can do hikes and swims and see some great jungle scenery. There's a lunch spot at the Lodge which is more expensive than town but great food and friendly staff. You can tell your ride person to pick you up later on and that means not having to go on a tour and not having to rent a car. We hiked to Antelope Falls which they say is tough but not really if you are in shape and then to lower Bocawina Falls and didn't have time to get to the other two falls above that. Great day?

Zip lining was great, the road was TERRIBLE! 2 flat tires! Ticks!
Feb 2020
The zip line was great, but long and expensive (9 platforms, 2 hrs, $75). BEWARE the road! Coming back out we got 2 flat tires. Yes, I was going probably 35 mph when I should have been doing 20. Then, as we changed the tires, we got over 200 tick bites! Yes, 200! We didn´t notice until we got home. Each bite looked like a bad mosquito bite but had a tiny black tick at the center. Ugh!

If you are in the Hopkins area this is a great hike to explore the NP and a wonderful cascading waterfall
Only a 3 mile out and back but pretty steep with ropes and roots necessary for the last quarter mile up to the top of the falls and a beautiful swimming hole.

Take a hike in a Belize Jungle
Jan 2020
Lots of activities to do in the park but today we preferred to hike to the Antelope Falls. The hike takes you into the jungle where there are incredible variety of plants and trees. You can also see Howler monkeys. Also watch for the Leaf Cutter Ants. They March on their own highways were they are working like crazy to carry their small pieces of leaves. Fascinating!

I have hammock camped on this property now twice in three years. They keep doing more and more to this park and I love it! Upon arrival we were given a very good explanation of all the falls and nature around us, the guy upfront was very passionate about it. We hung out hammocks under a shelter for $10 a night and were very safe. We had a security guard there all night. The trails to the falls are superb! Our only complaint is the restaurant at the resort not telling us meals were in US dollars. I have spent 4 months in Belize and this was a first for us. I will be back.

With weather complications and a reschedule we finally were able to have this amazing adventure!! The hike up and repelling were sensational, we felt safe and well taken care of! But honestly our guides Victor and Donald were just simply awesome, fun, educational and became our friends instantly!!
