Very inaccessible unless you're taking a tour, this area of small waterfalls and pools is a lovely place to relax and cool off after a tour of Caracol and is included in every tour. There's a vantage point you'll see first to take great photos...More

A very wide space in the river, with many pools and little waterfalls. Very scenic and and relaxing. We were only there are short time (as part of a larger tour) but it would be nice place to bring a picnic and stay for a...More

We went during the off season so the pools were virtually empty. The pools are created by a series of waterfalls. Each pool depth is different. During summer months, our guide explained that the pools will be filled with people - locals and tourists as...More

You can get here by car and it is free. The rocks can be very slippery so be careful. Great to combine with trip to Caracol. Be aware there are also small black leeches in the water and they will like you. Worth it!!

If you're passing by Rio on the Pools, then you're hot and sticky. Water was refreshing, atmosphere relaxing. Can't go wrong to dive in. A beer would have made this stop, just that much better.

Some reviewers said to wear water shoes or Keens. I went barefoot. I don't think shoes would give a grip to save you from slipping on these rocks. By going barefoot, you can test/feel if there's a slippery spot or not. With each step, you...More

Our guide Adrian stopped at a lookout of the pools and we knew we were in for a wonderful, relaxing afternoon. The pools are a short easy hike from the road and we took along a picnic to enjoy beside the pools and falls. We...More
