The lawns were well maintained with plenty of space for a picnic. There isn’t much shade and most of the garden has direct sunlight. The views of the mountains in the background makes a beautiful backdrop. The rose bushes were however poorly maintained and none of the bushes had any name boards giving information on the plant. The ground also seemed a bit dry and some rose bushes were losing there leaves, but it could be because it is winter.

The rose garden is well worth a visit. It has been used as a backdrop for weddings for a long time. It is beautiful. 🌹

Came upon this place by chance. This is a wonderful quiet haven, in the middle of no where. It's a nice spot to smell roses, sit and relax and take pictures. There was nobody around when we went on a Saturday afternoon. This place is open until 4pm on weekdays, not too sure about weekends.

We planned to see the Rose Garden as a bonus to a winery visit; but only stayed briefly. Maintenance is clearly an issue; the grass is trimmed, but the rose beds are badly overgrown, giving a general air of neglect. The boasted number of different roses is doubtful. There are no labels for the different varieties, so attempting to choose a cultivar for the garden is a non-starter. It could have been so much better.

The three years of drought has had its effect on this once beautiful garden. It is very bare and pale with very little colour.

It does still make for a quiet sit in the winter sun to enjoy nature within the city.
