Surprise
Jun 2016 • Family
A well kept church, well restored and interesting to explore: the story of St. Giorgio and the dragon, frightening devils in the last judgement, St Ursula on a ship to Cologne, the beautiful Madonna with a hole in the board for the cats to slip through and other things to discover...

OUTSTANDING! The most surprising of all the churches in Tuscany
May 2016 • Friends
quietly hidden away and thankfully not at the centre of tourbus land, this church stunned me when I entered. The altarpiece is the first thing to catch the eye, simply glittering and quite simply beautiful, and built by Sano di Pietro. It was like entering the National Gallery. I was amazed. As is the norm, sacred music played quietly in the background as I explored at closer quarters this 14th century place of worship. Its walls are covered with fabulous frescoes from 15th, 16th, 17th centuries and the overall impression is gorgeous. Don't miss this.

One of the most beautiful small churches we have visited in Italy.....and we have visited hundreds! Exquisite frescos, statuary, architecture and of course....."The Cat Hole"! A must see in this absolutely charming village!
