Not your standard zoo! This is as close to a Safari experience as you can get outside of Africa. Better to come with your own vehicle, especially with little kids. The park busses are not very nice, and dont have A/C. Also there's a couple...More

Drive from Mexico City to Africam Safari (2 Replies)
How long does it take to drive from Mexico City to Africam Safari?
May 20, 2016|
Response fromBill M|
I don't have personal experience driving there, however, I've driven to and taken the bus to Puebla and from Mexico City it takes approx. 2 hours. The Safari is on the outskirts of Puebla and, after looking at a google map, I have the impression driving time will be approx. 2.5 hours. The highway between Mexico City and Puebla is one of the busiest in the country and, oftentimes, there are delays, accidents, bad weather, etc., which can, in those instances, cause the trip to take longer to...More

Family Trip - how many days? (3 Replies)
This summer we will be visiting family in oaxaca (we've been several times). However this trip we are flying in to Mexico City first (kids and I have never been to Mexico City), then driving to Oaxaca. Children will be 5 and 7 years old. I would like advice on how many days we should plan on staying in Mexico City? I was thinking 4 full days, and then stopping in Puebla for Africam Safari.

I have 3 kids, now all grown up. We travelled with them, but I found big cities to be the most challenging. Kids get hungry often, they need bathrooms, get tired and cranky. You probably already know that. So I think 4 days would be long enough for you. You won't see all the things that adults only would, but you will see the wonderful things that children like. My first visit I was totally in love with Chapultepec Park and all the children and balloons and colour, such a fun place on the...More

Puebla in December with teens (2 Replies)
We are planning to be in Puebla with our two teens (15 and 16) at the end of December. In addition to the historic sites we are considering visiting the Africam Safari and the Piedras Encimadas but wonder how the weather in late December might impact these outdoor activities. Also, how far are these sites from the centro historico of Puebla?

it will be difficult to find a more comfortable climate during Christmas time anywhere in the northern hemisphere. There will be Lots of sun and fresh air cleaned by the rainy season during summer. definitely bring a jacket for the evenings and early mornings which can be chilly. By 10:30 AM it's back to being nice and warm . perhaps about 67 - 70 degrees Fahrenheit on average.
