“A diferent view of rocks and nature”

If you enjoy the roadrunner cartoon you will be amaze of the rock formations here. Definitely a place to visits and had some extravagant pictures.

Don't know where it's name came from but it's a very nice park to walk through and is a great place to visit if the tourist crowded get too much for you or if you just can't visit one more church.

Beatiful and quiet place for a nice ride

The place is beautiful with many different rock formations, we arrived at 11:00 hours and there was no fog in the park so we were able to enjoy all the ride. You can rent bicycles, horses, monkeys or even a cart with a horse.

We travel with small kids ranging from 4-11 and everyone enjoyed the ride. It is about 1:30 minutes walk trough the main path (two ways).

In the park there is a zip-line where kids can have a 180 ride like superman.

The park has restrooms, a restaurant, and a small farm were kids can feed some animals such as chickens, ducks, etc...

The park entrance is free but the tours such as the bicycles and horses do cost, the horse tour price was 100 pesos per horse for the whole tour (1:30).

In general, you do not need a tour, you can just walk trough the park, however, the tour guide can show you some special forms in the stones which gives more fun to the trip.

There is a place for camping with tends, it cost extra.

People was very friendly and helpful.

This place is full of an enigmatic feeling. The experience begins even before arriving, since the ride is though a beautiful forest and landscape where eventually you find friendly Mexican people always willing to smile.

At the entrance you have a person that explains the park, the facilities, costs, hours (she did it to us in Spanish and I am not sure they have available English speaking guides.

There are a good variety of small restaurants operated by the locals (all services are provided by a “coperativa”, similar to a union); bicycles and horses to rent. You can contract a guide or go by your own and leave your imagination fly over the formations. Not only what is there, but how was that formed? how did it get there?

Definitely a place to find peace and meditate in absolut contact with nature. This is Mexico.

Absolutely beautiful and magical worth the relatively long trip from Puebla. I recommend to hire a guide. This is not really necessary to find you way. However he/she will help you to imagine different persons or objects in the shape of the rocks. I found this quite entertaining. I stayed only a few hours in the afternoon. I realized that it might be interesting to stay a full day our even a night (on full moon) which allows you to enjoy the view of the rocks in different lights. The park has a few restaurants. However, only one was open in November. It was very good and was extremely inexpensive.

Impressive views

This is a very exciting place to visit, which I enjoyed a lot, if possible try to do the ride trip inside. Bring a jacket or sweater because it is a cold place and you may be surrounded by fog.

Beautiful Scenery enjoyed on horseback

This was our second time visiting Piedras Encimadas. This time we brought some visiting family with us. The scenery is beautiful, but mostly we come because they have an hour horseback ride for only 150 pesos and my girls love riding. The grounds are kept up nicely and some guides are better at others in helping you see the formations in the rocks. Other options are walking and biking, or a big wagon behind a horse for about 6 people. There is an area for camping and a nice stream runs through the grounds. Everyone we've met has been welcoming and friendly. We generally try to get there as early in the morning as possible because the clouds and fog set in around noon, plus it's pretty empty. Their hours, as of Oct. 2015 are 9am-6pm.

Beautiful scenery

Wonderful scenery. However it is much colder here than in Puebla - be sure to take warm clothing. Great activity for kids!

Incredible Natural Sights

This is a big park with huge natural formations that depict various things depending on your imagination. There are several options in order to traverse this huge area. The route that I took with my family involved using a horse-drawn carriage which holds around 12 people. The guide then explains the park and illustrates image is connected with the rock. Sometimes you can see it and others you cannot.
After you finish the tour, you can walk around as you please. There are horses and bicycles available depending on your liking. If you go walking you can head to the area where there is ziplining. Even though you are scared, take this incredible experience. You soar above the park and it's an incredible adrenaline rush.

Rocks that rock you

From Puebla town more than 2 hours by car. Wonderful landscape, take a picnic there, chill out and climb the rocks that are looking like faces.

OK but do not drive to far for it

park with mounted boulders. Well, if you know one of the parks like Bryce or Grand Canyon in the US, maybe it is not that exciting. Went during a long weekend in Mexico visiting other places as well. You can hike and have some food in one of the little restaurants in the park.
