Ducked in with Jen on a whim and it was awe-inspiring, and I am not easily moved. The church of Santo Domingo has an interior lined with impressive Baroque altars and contains a fine onyx pulpit. The main attraction here is the Capilla del Rosario,...More

This complex is architecturally interesting. As you approach the entrance, notice the "sugarcake" decoration on the second story or the adjoining building. The gem of the visit is the Rosario Chapel. The gilded altar and domed ceiling are impressive. Notice also the decorative wall tiles.

These Catholics loved their gold. There is so much gold that is inside. This appeared to be the second most popular church in the area and was very busy.

The main church itself is really quite beautiful but the main reason most people come here is to visit the Rosary Chapel, which is incredible. It's hard to take it all in, there is not a surface that hasn't been lavishly covered in gold.

Big church in Puebla ... not the most intricate or ornate though! There are some smaller churches worth seeing more out by Chipilo and Cholula.

I suggest you to visit other top two churches in Puebla if you have a limited time. This one is not that special compared to other two churches.
