You can get many ceramic pottery in this place with affordable pricing. It’s nice to stroll around to see the local products and have some small snacks from the street vendors. We went there on Sunday afternoon but the market was quite empty and quiet which makes it comfortable to walkby.

I generally don't like to hit the touristy places. I'm the type of traveler who much prefers to immerse myself in the culture of where I’m visiting by hanging out with the locals, eating the food they eat in the way that they prepare it, instead of in the uninspiring version tailored to finicky tourist’s taste buds. I like to visit the places the locals hang out, to see how they spend their off time, instead of joining a bunch of other tourists being herded to the “tourist trap” shopping venues where the prices are jacked up ten-fold in contrast to the off-the-beaten-path venues. However, having said that… if you go to Parian in Puebla, you really can get a taste of the culture and food, since the locals seem to like to hang out there, too! The food really is authentic; and if you feel the prices are too high, just move down a couple of blocks. In addition, the local scene is not far away. Only a few blocks away is Los Sapos, where— yes, I admit, is a tourist trap during the day— but at night, the place is ALIVE and hopping with the locals at all the bars along the Los Sapos strip (which are closed during the day, but all open at night). I know, because I used to live in Puebla and dated a young Poblano. And this was one of our favorite places to hang out on a Friday or Saturday night. Get ready to let your hair down and dance and go crazy! (Just be careful with your valuables. Better not to bring them!)

If you want arts and crafts this is the place to visit, right in downtown Puebla. Everything is concentrated in two streets so it is very convenient and fun

This is a good option for purchasing local arts and crafts. You may need some time to look on all the available options. Prices are very reasonable and also you may bargain. Although you can find a huge variety of things this is not the place for the high-end crafts that is available through speciality stores. Fun place to visit and take something home.

Be careful with the prices... I recommend that once you see something you like don't buy it on the first place, walk away and as you are walking away they will give you the lowest price and now you know if you want to pay that or not.

The first place to go when looking for souvenirs from Puebla. A lot of talavera pottery, plus ponchos etc. Very touristy, but reasonable prices and a good one-stop solution. If you're looking for very high-quality and special goods, don't go here. But for regular souvenirs, this a good choice.

Probably my favourite marketplace that I visited in Mexico. I only intended to spend an hour or so here but ended up spending 3 hours. A friendly collection of stalls that sell everything from your garden variety tourist souvenirs to high end artisan items.

Most items were from Puebla and included some nice colourful blouses. Mainly sweets and souvenirs with many stalls selling copies of Tavarla pottery. Go to the authentic shops to purchase the genuine items and see them being made.
