It was a very enjoyable and productive experience for two weeks.I arrived alone at the last minute after a friend had to cancel the trip and was given a very warm welcome. Friends were easily made with other students, the class room instruction was very personalized, the Thursday field trips were enjoyable as was the weekend trip I was able to take with the help from maru. Learning basically consists of morning classes and an afternoon spent with a guide visiting different places on the city while speaking Spanish and homework at night. I honestly cannot think of a single change I would recommend to the structure of the program and would highly recommend both the school as well as the town of Puebla to visit.

I just finished a month at LIVIT, I had a great time. Stayed with a family and had a very immersive experience. The education is great but what sets this program apart is the owners willingness to go above expectations constantly. From weekly field trips to interesting places one would not normally see while traveling, delicious home cooked meals, weekly visits to local restaurants and general camaraderie at the school. Highly recommend!

Incredible experience. 4 hours of classroom work plus 2 hours of conversation with guides in the community. You will work hard and your Spanish will improve. Everything well organized and professional. Covid protocols are excellent. Home cooked lunch is included. The hosts feel like family by the end. If possible, stay in one of their apartments. Also, Puebla is a great choice: safe, friendly and lots do.

After four weeks of studying here, I'm totally enjoying learning this wonderful language, as well as exploring this incredibly neat city. In fact, before I left here, I signed up to return--convinced that this was The place that could teach me the most Spanish in the least amount of time.

To give you something of an overview: as other reviewers have said, at Livit, you get four solid hours of instruction each morning. My instructor was incredibly high-energy, creative and fun (as well as funny). But truly--non-stop. Buckle your seatbelt, please.

Around 1 or so, a wonderful meal is served 3 days a week "family style" with all of the students together (this is a small school, btw) during which, Spanish is spoken (or, as in my case, attempted to be spoken). Also on three days a week you are given a guia, who will guide you around the city while you practice your Spanish skills with them. The guiás generally fit the following profile: young, neat, smart college students--most of whom have lived in Puebla for a long time, if not their entire life. Each guiá who worked with me was upbeat and supportive and really a lot of fun.

This set up is truly perfect...just when your brain is telling you it's maxed out after four solid hours of instruction, along comes this friendly new face, happy to go where you'd like to go--happy to talk about with you about what you'd like to talk about--so long as it's in Spanish. So a wonderful way to switch gears all the while staying in español mode. (And on Thursdays, the school takes you on an extensive excursion, typically to some place a bit of a drive away from the school and designed to show you yet another side of this amazing part of the world.)

In terms of living situations, I spent my first week staying in one of the apartments there at the school which was a perfect way for me to transition into my new and foreign situation. For the next three weeks, I lived with a local family--and truly, if someone called down to Central Casting with a request for the two sweetest and most supportive people on the planet to be cast as the home parents, they would've been delighted with these two. I know I was.

Finally, a bit about Puebla itself. First, I'm a single woman and felt completely safe the entire time I was there. Second, the school is located in the historic center of the town--and there's something truly interesting (if not fascinating) on every street corner. I loved how rich in history the entire area was. Third, the location of the school is within each walking distance of the town square, where restaurants, food vendors, shops and all manner of life is kicking back and having a great time virtually all of the time.

While I can't compare my experience with other language schools in that this is my one and only exposure, please know I really can't say enough good things about this school, about this city, or about the wonderfully loving and intelligent people I met while there.

Please let me know if you have any questions and I promise to answer them to the very best of my ability. ¡Y buena suerte!

I joined my cousin for a week of Spanish immersion with some hesitation -- I wasn't sure I was capable of "sitting" in a classroom learning Spanish. But it was such a positive experience that I signed on for another week and enjoyed every minute of it.

The program was well designed. They built lots of variety into the morning classes. After lunch (delicious Mexican meals) we each had our own guide -- interesting and helpful university students who couldn't speak English -- who talked with us as we enjoyed beautiful Puebla. Once a week we took a field trip to a fascinating town, where we learned about the area (in Spanish, of course).

By the time I left, my Spanish had improved and I had fallen in love with Puebla and LIVIT.

Livit is located in Puebla, a very pretty city 2 hours east of Mexico City.
The owners are very nice, and I was sent detailed instructions before my arrival about how to catch the bus from Mexico City, which I appreciated. They met me at the bus station, and took me to my host family, which was an adorable couple who live near the school.
The Spanish instruction was thorough, and the teachers were very good. My fellow students were a nice group of people....most were improving their Spanish for their jobs in the USA.
Tasty lunches were provided during the school week, and I ate breakfast and dinner with my family. I particularly liked the part of the day when we got to wander in the afternoon with our own (college student) guide.

This is a great school. The owners Scott and his wife are fun and friendly. They go out of their way to help you and to make you feel comfortable. They served delicious homemade authentic Mexican lunches every day except when we went out to eat. We ate on a beautiful sunny deck while chatting in Spanish. It was a truly lovely experience.
I hadn't spoken Spanish in 30 years before the trip. By the end of my two weeks there I was thinking in Spanish.
We took fun trips as a group and we really got in to the heritage and history of Puebla. My host family was kind and loving. Puebla is safe. I felt confident walking the streets alone at night. There is great nightlife and good food in Puebla.

I attended Livit for about three weeks and I was thoroughly impressed by every aspect of it. The program is very well structured, with small classes geared towards individual student needs (I was the only student in my class for a while). My teacher, Luis, was excellent and used a lot of well-thought-out and creative exercises (some that were standard at Livit) and helped me immensely with both conversational skills and more technical grammar. I went from fumbling around when I arrived to being able to carry on a conversation very quickly. I heard similar comments from students in other classes. The afternoon sessions on M-W with the very knowledgeable local guides (mostly former university students who studied history) were a great way to practice Spanish while seeing the historical and cultural highlights of Puebla, and the Thursday excursions let us see some sights outside the city and get to know the other students. Aside from that, the atmosphere is really conducive to learning. The school and classrooms are pleasant and comfortable, and the daily group lunches were a great way to unwind after class (especially in nice weather when we ate our home-cooked meals outside) and practice Spanish in a relaxed setting before afternoon activities. The owners, Scott and Maru, are patient and excellent teachers, and they and their family couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. They were always available for questions about every aspect of being a visitor in Puebla, which is a beautiful, fascinating city with a rich history and should be at the top of everyone's list of places to visit.

After a great two weeks at Livit, I returned for another round of classes. The program is planned for maximum learning as well as experiencing Puebla and Mexican culture. Maru and Scott are welcoming hosts and the teachers are top notch. The afternoon one-on-one outings with a guide offer a good opportunity to practice what you've learning in class. Students at all levels, from beginner to more advanced, are taught with respect and ability appropriate lessons. Puebla is a beautiful colonial city and the food is amazing (as are the lunches at school). Everything about my experience was all I hoped for and I will undoubtedly return.

My wife and I spent 3 weeks at this lovely facility. We both took Spanish classes, although from different teachers because our Spanish speaking abilities are at different levels.

Both of us appreciated the competence and enthusiasm of our instructors. Classes are a good mix of conversation, instruction, exercises and just the right amount of homework. Whatever level of Spanish you are at, you will learn plenty from these folks.

The afternoons (from roughly 2:15 - 4:30) are spent going out and about with a college student who speaks Spanish with you. They are very good about slowing down their speaking speed if necessary, or speaking at a more normal speed if you can understand that.

One afternoon each week is an excursion outside of Puebla. The gentleman who does this is well-informed and enthusiastic, making for enjoyable trips.

I could go on, but I will simply say the owners of this school are wonderful people who work hard to ensure everyone has a positive experience.

I highly recommend this school!
