Such a lovely day and such a lovely family! We were a group of 4 and 2 of us had just arrived to Italy from the US the night before, so jet lag was an issue. The weather was rainy and cool. The perfect set up for a "stay at your hotel" kind of day. But I am so glad... More

Quite possibly our most favorite experience while visiting Rome. I had been searching for a fun activity while we were in town and none of the other cooking class choices quite seemed to gel with me. I found Convivio through happenchance and I am so glad! Communication prior to our visit was perfect with Sally. My husband and I are... More

Our day with Sally and Guido was the perfect way to break up our five days in Rome. There is nothing slick or fancy about the Convivio Rome experience, just the thoughtful and professional touch of the hosts. Their home, near Castelnuovo di Farfa (they recently moved from the listed location) is informal and comfortable, with a lovely deck off... More

We had a fantastic day with Sally and Guido. The instructions on how to get there were great and the journey itself simple. Sally picked us up on time and showed us around a beautiful medieval hilltop village and the on to her new home with a magnificent view across a valley to a 10th century monastery. Guido then took... My husband (who is not an obsessively keen cook) and I had a wonderful day with Sally and Guido at Convivio Rome. We loved the personalised tour of tiny fortified villages in the area and the cooking session was fabulous. We learned how to make handmade pasta and other traditional dishes with beautiful local produce, and then ate it with... More

It is great to hear that you enjoyed the full 'non touristy' experience: visiting the medieval villages, your cooking lesson, long lunch with wines and a day with our family in the Roman countryside. I am glad you were inspired enough to even consider buying a long pasta rolling pin to add to your luggage to return to Australia! We... More

My sisters and I booked a full day cooking class with Sally and Guido and we could not have been happier. Sally was great to work with prior to our visit. She provided very clear and precise instructions on how to get from our hotel to the train which took us to the beautiful country side. Sally greeted us at... More

My three adult children and I spent 4 days in Rome. My Christmas gift from them was a half day cooking school. We had a really great day cooking, having fun, we learned a lot, and the hosts were really nice and helpful in all matters, - both arranging the tour and during the day. We can highly recommend a... Firstly, thank you for taking the time to write a review. It was great fun meeting you and your family and also learning about life in Denmark. It is wonderful to see families coming along to visit us and enjoying an activity together in a completely different environment: our home, in the Sabine Hills; and as you said, really "... More

The perfect day-trip from Rome is just a short train ride into hilly terrain with spectacular views, where the olive reigns supreme: there is even a local museum devoted to the luscious green fruit and the olive oil produced in this area is suitably famous. But what makes this a terrific take are the hosts, Guido Santi and Sally Ransom.... More

Thank you for capturing the highlights of your cooking class with us. It is always a pleasure to have cooking guests in our home and often after a cooking class followed by a relaxed lunch with wines and free flowing conversation, it feels like we have just had friends over...so I am really pleased you felt this way too. My husband and I booked this as a day trip from Rome (it gave our feet a much needed rest!) and it turned out to be our favourite day of the trip! The cooking class was great, the dishes we made were simple enough (and delicious) that we are confident that we will be able to recreate them at home.... More

We were looking to spend some time outside of Rome and found the cooking classes offered by Sally and Guido the perfect fit for what we wanted. Toffia is an easy 40 minutes train ride from Rome and we did not have to worry about anything once we arrived at the train station in Fara Sabina where we were picked... More
