    Great Day
We very much enjoyed our cooking class with Guido and Sally. We met them at Castelnuovo and made arrangements to stay nearby. After our little tour of the town, we were driven back to their home for an afternoon of cooking linguine, sauce, veal saltimbocca and ricotta cake. This was followed by a visit to an historic monastery in the town of Farfa. I would very much recommend the entire experience. Both Guido and Sally were friendly and welcoming.
Thank you so much for your review and we are pleased you both enjoyed your time with us. As you both were travelling by car, we were very happy to alter the meeting point (from our usual meeting point at the train station, to our local village) to suit you both and so we could start the tour together. It was a pleasure to take you around our local medieval village, then onto our home for your cooking class and relaxed lunch on our home terrace and then onto the monastic village of Farfa. We know you have visited Italy many times before and we were very happy to be able to show you around somewhere new and totally undiscovered by mass tourism. We hope you had a safe return journey home and we look forward to meeting you both again.

    Wonderful experience!!
Spending the day with Sally and Guido was one of the highlights of our family trip to Italy. Our day started with a tour of Castelnuovo an incredible medieval village. We then went to Sally and Guido's family home for our cooking lesson. It was so fun and the food was so good and fresh, not to mention the beautiful views from the outdoor space where we ate! I cannot wait to make fresh pasta at home. We then went to Farfa, toured the church and little village shops. Our day was truly one of the best and something my family and I will never forget. Thank you Guido, Sally and Gemma for having us in your home and for such a wonderful day!
Thanks so much to you and your wonderful family for joining us! We are so pleased we could offer you a special day that suited your whole family. Guido and I ( Sally) really enjoy what we do, and it is a pleasure to share our little slice of Italy with you. Let us know when you get a chance to make the pasta again. I am sure it will bring back good memories of your day with us. Thanks so much for your wonderful review. All the best to you and your family. Whenever you next come to Italy, please let us know.

    Blissful
We attended the five day cooking holiday. We had waited three years for this experience, having booked pre-COVID and then were unable to travel. It was certainly worth the wait. All correspondence with Sally prior to the event was clear and informative. We were totally surprised, and slightly intimidated, when we discovered we were the only two participants. There would be nowhere to hide. Our apprehension was completely unfounded. Guido was fantastic: so knowledgeable not only about the regional cuisine, but also all aspects of food production and totally supportive. We learnt a lot, we ate very well and we have lasting memories. I would absolutely recommend this experience, regardless of whether you are a raw beginner or seeking to extend your repertoire as we were.
It was an absolute pleasure meeting you both and we were happy to offer you the whole 5 Day Cooking Holiday just for the 2 of you..... After all, you had waited 3 years to get to us in person! We keep our Italian cooking holiday groups small, with a maximum of 8 to make sure everyone gets our personal attention. We work hard behind the scenes to make your total cooking holiday experience is not only informative but also relaxing and fun. We are so pleased you enjoyed every aspect of what we offered. We know that you have traveled extensively around Italy for years, so were honored that you chose to attend our Convivio Rome Italian Cooking Holiday to try something new. P.S. Guido and I want to also thank you for keeping in touch via our online cooking classes during the '2 year suspension' of our 4 Day and 5 Day Italian Cooking Holidays and it was wonderful that you could try out some of Guido's recipes even before you arrived with his 'Authentic Italian Cooking Classes Video Package'

    Best Spot around!
We loved everything about our day with Convivio Rome day. The Half-Day package was the perfect price and level of commitment for us, better than any of the competition in the area. Sally is an excellent communicator and we felt very prepared even before we arrived. She is truly a kind and good person and we all enjoyed her tour of the village. Guido's kitchen is calm and interesting. We all learned many useful things from our time there. We enjoyed their home and their family and the beautiful view and the wine and of course the amazing food! Highly recommend!
We loved having you and your friends join us for a Half Day Italian Cooking Class. It was a pleasure showing you around the winding cobbled streets of our nearby medieval hilltop village at the start of your half day program with us. This little village is wonderful kept and has so many features that could be easily overlooked without a local to a take you around. Guido's cooking class in our family home was just a short stop from here and we are glad to hear you learned a few more tricks and tips from Guido. Lunch on our family terrace is a perfect way to end this half day experience and we are so pleased you enjoyed the views, the wine and of course the amazing food that you all prepared. Thank you so much for joining us and we hope the rest of your trip in Italy was just as enjoyable. Please send our regards to everyone and we hope you will be able to return one day soon.

    Unique and beautiful experience
From beginning to end, the whole Convivo Rome experience was 10/10 for me! I was travelling alone in Italy and did the one day cooking course and tour with another couple. Sally and Guido welcomed us into their home and gave such a unique experience, filled with history, music, conversation and gems of knowledge about cooking and the surrounding area. I will remember this day with a smile and highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a beautiful and authentic Italian cooking experience.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review of your One Day Italian Cooking Class and Touring Experience with us. We welcome all solo travelers and were so pleased that you could join our small group last minute. We are so pleased you enjoyed your total experience with us and I really loved the way you shared your amazing artwork with us over lunch. We not only love to share our local area, our passion for cooking, history and culture with our guests, but we also enjoy it when we find out more about those who has come to join in the fun. We have had such a diverse range of people from different countries, ages, profession and backgrounds. Guests come to us from all over the world, and it is so much fun sharing our little corner of the authentic Italy with everyone. Thank you so much for joining us and we hope your travels continued to be as much fun.

Amazing day of cooking and exploring!
We had a wonderful day with Sally and Guido! From exploring the country side in the Sabine Hills to learning how to cook amazing pasta and even doing an olive oil tasting, the experience was 5 stars all around! Don't miss booking this! It was a nice reprieve from the busy touring of Rome city center and a perfect way to end our vacation week in Italy. Excellent communication throughout the planning and transportation to and from was simple from Rome and a great day trip experience! Thank you!
Thank you for your wonderful review of your One Day Italian Cooking Class and Touring Experience with us.We are so pleased you enjoyed your day with us and that you found it easy to follow the directions to get to your meeting point from Rome, and return. We love what we do, showing our guests around the beautiful Sabine Hills, and both Guido and I have traveled a lot over the years, so make sure our instructions to get to us are super easy to follow and that taking a day trip to our 'off the beaten track' destination is 'a breeze'. Guido could see that you had a special interest in our local olive oil, so spontaneously added his special olive oil tasting tips onto our usual one day cooking and touring Experience, for you and your group. We are glad you liked this addition. Rome is an amazing city, but I agree it is wonderful to come out into the countryside the experience another side of Italian life, fresh air, wonderful scenery and a true taste of authentic Italy in our family home. We are so pleased you chose our One Day Experience to finish offer your vacation in Italy. Thanks so much for joining us and we hope to see you both return one day soon. All the best to you.

    Wonderful Italian cooking class
We had a wonderful time at the one day cooking class with Guido and Sally. It was a great combination of cooking together, tasting local and seasonal delicacies and enjoying nearby sights. We will definitely be back for more!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. It was a pleasure having you and your mom here for a One Day Italian Cooking and Touring Class earlier this month. I really enjoyed our conversation during the day and over lunch time. Thank you for appreciating the full one day experience with its varied aspects of touring local medieval towns, exploring the countryside, and taking a cooking class in our family home. We loved the way you chose Italy as a place for you both to meet up (coming from your respective countries) to have a holiday together. Staying half your holiday time in the city of Rome and then the other days out in the Rome countryside, in the Sabine Hills = Perfect combination. Thank you both for joining us and we look forward to your return.

    Very enjoyable day !
We had very enjoyable day with Guido and Sally. We saw a couple of medieval villages that were very interesting, then we learned the Italian way to make pasta, sauce and dessert. We had a lot of laughs and it was a nice break in the country from a very busy Roma

    Authentic Cooking Experience
My family and I recently enjoyed the Convivio Rome cooking class and visited the charming village of Farfa. It was an unforgettable experience! From start to finish, Sally and Guido's communication, hospitality and passion for sharing their culture and cuisine made for an exceptional day. Guido's expertise and enthusiasm for cooking shone through as he guided us through the preparation of traditional Italian dishes. After our delicious three-course meal, we finished our day by visiting Farfa, a truly beautiful picturesque village in the countryside. If you're looking for an authentic and personalised experience in Rome, Convivio Rome is an absolute must!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We really appreciate the fact that even when TripAdvisor 'rejected' your initial review for us (as it was too long!!!!!) that you took the time to write another. That shows total commitment to writing a review for us and wanting to tell others of your wonderful experience. Thank you so much! We really enjoyed meeting you and your family back in June this year and it was wonderful to see how you all embraced every part of your day. Having Italian roots, as your husband and family have makes a lot of our guests recognise the authenticity of the experience we offer. Chef Guido, is an eighth generation Roman, who was born and grew up in Rome and now living in the Rome countryside with his family. Your visit includes a cooking class in our Italian family home, so you could not get more authentic than this! Thank you, again for really enjoying your day with us and we hope you and your family had a safe return trip to Australia. Whenever you next visit Italy, please drop in!

A perfect day cooking and learning about olive oil.
Sally and Guido are fantastic hosts and guides. We had the perfect day cooking, eating and learning about olive oil. We visited with our 12 year old son and he enjoyed the day. We learned how to make a traditional Roman dish and delicious dessert. We got to taste fresh figs we picked off of Sally and Guido's tree. We learned so much and had a lovely lunch with the most fantastic view. Sally makes everything simple and easy. She's quick to respond and is so helpful to ensure you get the train that is closest to your hotel. We highly recommend this tour.
We are so pleased you and your family enjoyed your One Day Italian Cooking Class and Olive Tour Experience with us. It was a pleasure spending the day with you and we are so pleased you had the 'perfect day of cooking , eating and learning about olive oil'. I love this description! We are so pleased you were here during fig season and being able to pick them from the tree at our front door means they are so fresh. Many of our guests have never had a fresh fig before and it is quite a taste sensation! So pleased to hear your son also enjoyed the day with you too. We hope you had a safe return journey home and that we will meet you and your family again soon, in person , or online!

The one-day class represented for me the best Italy has to offer: warm and knowledgable hosts, delicious food we (mostly!) made ourselves, in a beautiful setting just a short train ride from Rome but feeling like a time-machine to a medieval world. Sally and Guido could not have been better hosts and my four fellow guests felt immediately like friends. There was a nice balance of sightseeing, guided learning, relaxing, and of course enjoying great local food and wine.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I am so pleased you enjoyed your One Day Cooking-Touring Experience with us (Sally and Guido). It really felt like a group of friends coming over and we are so pleased that you all got on so well together. It was a lot of fun for us, too. We were also so pleased to meet you in person, after you being a member of our online monthly cook club, Guido's Cook Club, for the past 8 months. Chatting to you online for all those months made it feel like we were just reconnectiong as friends when we met for the first time in person. Wonderful! We hope to see you again, very soon.

We did a half-day cooking course and loved every minute. Sally and Guido were great hosts; very friendly, knowledgeable and easy to chat with. It was a great experience, cooking against the backdrop of stunning views across the valley and hills and using high quality local products. Sally and Guido shared lots of interesting tips about the area. They were very good at accommodating for our food preferences, and the end result was delicious. Highly recommended.

My recent visit will have been my 5th. Sally and Guido are perfect hosts and is just like going home and visiting family. The cooking itinerary is informal, relaxed and most enjoyable. End result is learning a lot from Guido who is a very experienced chef.

Accommodation during the stay is very good along with the after cooking experiences that are on offer. I cannot speak too highly of their professionalism in making your experience one to remember. I should know after returning year on year.

Convivio Cooking Classes program is truly a tantasy coming alive. You are submerged in a farmhouse kitchen, with Chef/Maestro/Instructor Guido providing you with how to slice and dice vegetables, make pasta from scratch, and prepare Italian classics like risotto, veal saltimbocca, chicken cacciatore and other dishes determined by what's freshest at the local farms. The farmhouse is located outside Toffia, a small village of about 1,000 people dating from the 11th century and you become part of that vililage, meeting each morning for cappucino and pastries,in the beautiful bar that is the heart of Toffia. Then you get picked up by Sally, Guido's wife and alterego, who drives you to their farmhouse. Once there, you don your aprons and follow Guido's instructions on how to prep the ingredients for that day's meal, how to assemble them for each dish and in what sequence and what temperature to cook each ingredient. And while he cooks,Guido also provides the cultural and historial roots of each dish, so you feel connected to the 'terra' of the day's menu. Then, after your amazing lunch, devouring what you participated in cooking, Guido and Sally take you for a tour that both helps walk off some of the glorious calories of lunch, and also enriches your Italian culinary experience by touring local olive groves and tasting different artisinal olive oils. The next day, your after-lunch visit might be to a local vinyard and award winning wine produce or to the pre-Medieval hamlet of Farfa, with a Benedictine abbey dating back to the 9th Century.

Thank you for your wonderfully descriptive review of your 5 Day/ 4 night Convivio Rome Italian Cooking Holiday with Chef Guido and Sally in the Sabine Hills, and in the heart of the Rome countryside. You have such a wonderful way with words and we love the way you capture the essence of what your cooking holiday was all about. You have embraced the full experience of staying in the medieval village of Toffia where you get to 'live like a local' for the time of your cooking holiday. It was a pleasure meeting you and your friend and we are so pleased you enjoyed your Italian experience with us. Thank you for joining us.

Thanks to Guido and Sally for a fantastic day ! Loved the tours to the medieval viilage and the monastery. Mostly though, I want to thank you for the fantastic cooking class. It was a great combination of hands-on together with demonstration and guidance from Guido. The food was spectacular and I loved cooking in such a homely environment. Thanks for accommodating me as a vegetarian . I can’t wait to show off the recipes that we learnt. And for your tips! You were both so warm and welcoming .. it didn’t feel formal in the least.. really enjoyed every moment of the day. I would highly recommend you to anyone interested. Thanks again 💜

I've known Convivio Rome for more than a dozen years now and finally got the chance to share their excellent authentic culinary experience with a group of family and friends. Sally and Guido were terrific hosts from start to finish. Guido's personal recipes for hand-made pasta, for ragu and risotto and beautiful spring artichokes were carefully explained and delicious to eat. Their excursions into an ancient local olive grove (Guido is an expert forager!) and to the beautiful medieval town of Farfa Sabina augmented our cooking immersion. Highly recommend!

Sally and Guido were outstanding hosts for our 4 day cooking class. The environment, ingredients, preparation, and final dishes were all perfect, and delicious. Thank you Chef Guido and Sally.
btw, Language was not a problem. We stayed at a nearby farmhouse set on a mountaintop. The rustic accommodations with the beautiful postcard views were perfect. The team of people there who took care of everything were kind and would do anything to make you comfortable.
We were a group of 10 from the U.S.

My husband, parents, and I did a full day cooking class with Sally & Guido and it was a highlight of our trip to Italy. Sally & Guido made the logistics so easy, and we had the best time learning to make authentic recipes, and of course eating them! It was a very personalized experience (they were so great with my husband's many food allergies) and we would DEFINITELY recommend to anyone visiting the area. The local village tours were also a great way to see parts of the country you may not otherwise see on your visit to Italy.
