While staying on the Pacific coast we spent one afternoon on a boat tour provided by the Jungle Crocodile Safari on the Tarcoles River. Our local guides were very knowledgeable of the river and its wildlife. The first hour was spent going slowly upriver and noting birds and numerous American Crocodiles basking in the sun or drowsing in the river.... More

Amazing! 18 foot Osama Bin Laden was our favorite Croc. Make sure you load on the sunscreen. Perfect for the whole family.

Well done and well worth the money to do it. You'll remember it for a long time after you have left.

We took the crocodile safari boat ride as part of a group tour. It was OK - we saw a lot of birds, some crocs, and some lizards, and the scenery was pretty. If you just want a relaxing hour and a half or so, it's an OK tour for that. As others have mentioned, they do NOT get out... More

We saw a wide variety of birds plus crocodiles and iguanas on this two-hour cruise on the Tarcoles River which we took as part of a Caravan Tour. The boat is covered so you are in the shade with open sides to get a good view. We had a good guide who maneuvered the boat near the shore and slowed... More

A good way to feel that you are floating along with the crocodiles. The guide is very well informed on the birds that you see along the way. Float through a mangrove river and spot many exotic birds in the trees. We saw beautiful roseate spoonbills, white ibis and many magnificent frigate birds. We only saw a few crocodiles floating... This expertly narrated eco cruise on the Tarcoles River was a part of a full day shore excursion through our ship, the Celebrity Infinity. What a fabulous experience we had on this jungle cruise! Not only did we see crocodile after crocodile, and got VERY close to several, but we saw untold numbers of birds. We were each given birding... More

Crocodiles, snakes, birds, bats, monkeys. See it all and enjoy the guides who will point it all out.

We were expecting to see crocodiles and we did. Some of them were very close!!! We also saw lots and lots of beautiful birds! There were so many different kinds of birds! Beautiful!!! The boat ride lasts about 2 hours. This covered boat ride was part of our Caravan Tour.

We stopped here on our way from San Jose to Manuel Antonio. A very nice 2 hour boat ride. We saw lots of different birds and too many crocodiles to count. Our bilingual guide gave out charts with the different birds on them so we could follow along. They don't feed the crocs anymore, at least that's what we were... More
