My daughter has been looking for some adventure and really wanted to do something different and unique. Recently heard about the Davis Falls tour and, after going to the website and getting some details, it seemed that this tour would be perfect for a family tour. The tour was great. It started at about 9 am from the Awe store about midway between Belmopan and Dangriga on Hummingbird Highway. The tractor ride to the Awe cabin was fun and the land interesting the see (along with the streams that we crossed). Once we made it to the cabin we then went on the 30 minute hike to the falls (bring the bug spray and swimming clothes for this). We got to the fall about 30 minutes later and it was great!! It is about 500 feet tall and it is a great view (wish I had brought my water proof case for my camera - it would have made taking pictures easier)...and a great place to swim in the pool at the base. After that we went to another swimming area down river to swim some more and eat lunch. Once that was done then it was back on the tractor and ride back where we started - arriving about 4 pm. Both my 16 year old daughter and I had a great time and discussed coming back another time in the future. One thing that I wish I brought on the trip is water shoes along with hiking shoes for the tour. The area around the falls has a lot of rocks - some sharp - and without shoes it can be hard to get around. Also, my daughter and I have vegetarian diets and fortunately we let them know beforehand and they were able to adjust our lunches accordingly.

The tour guide and all the personnel involved are very friendly and welcoming. They have a shop available to buy snacks and other necessities at local prices too :) So I recommend coming a little early to make sure you're stocked up for the day. You are constantly in view of nature and since the tour includes a hike, you feel very accomplished at the end of the trip. That being said, I highly recommend wearing a good pair of closed-in shoes and a hat for the best experience. If you want to experience the jungle, this is the place to be.

We visited Davis Falls in the rainy season and now in the dry season. Both times the trip was fantastic. The falls are amazing in any season, and after the 1 1/2 mile hike to the falls, the clear water was so refreshing. The Awe family has challenges for those daring to try them! Our teens were able to accomplish them, while my wife and I enjoyed the water.
The 2nd part of the trip is lunch at a Mayan pool, which also was fun to swim in.
The hike is moderate difficulty with some steep hills to navigate but the Awe's would let you go at your own pace, and also helped make sure your footing was secure.
Bring bug repellent for bot fly - the Lemon Eucalyptus one was rated high and kept us from bites. Bring it with you so you can put it on after the swimming.
We were provided with many samples of local food, snacks, and drinks on the trip which added to the experience!
I definitely recommend this trip - the tour is unforgettable, and the Awe Tour Expedition group is a wonderful guide for the Davis Falls!

We took this amazing tour with a group of 12 family members and had an amazing day!! The wagon ride in is comfortable and the guides gave us a lot of information on the area. The hike to the waterfall is beautiful ( wear runners or hikers) and the waterfall is beautiful. My family was excited to be able to swim in the pool below the waterfall. The guides let us have all the time we wanted to swim which was nice. We hiked back to the wagon and they had prepared a delicious meal with fresh squeezed orange juice by a secluded swimming hole. ( we needed a vegetarian and gluten free meal and they provided) after lunch we swam in the pool and watched our guides do some amazing diving. Then it was back on the wagon. When we mentioned having never picked an orange from a tree our driver swung in close so we could pick some while the other guide jumped off and picked more. They cut them up for all of us to try. The guides were very helpful on the hike and just let us have some fun while swimming! This was an awesome tour and I will be recommending to my friends and family!

This is a great tour run by a family that grew up around Davis Falls. The uncle built the wagon used for the trips, and four brothers / cousins run the tours. Me and my family loved the tour. There was lots to see on the ride in, and we loved swimming at the falls.
The second half of our day brought us to a Mayan pool, we had so much fun jumping from the rocks, diving and checking out the beautiful scenery . The lunch was good (they had no problem accommodating the vegetarian in our group) The tour guides were excellent . They worked really hard to make sure we enjoyed ourselves, like letting us pick oranges from the trees in their family orange grove when we asked. Because they made us feel so welcome, this tour became one of the highlights of our trip to Belize.

Short version : Great guides, nice ride, amazing waterfall, great swimming, and good food.
You know those amazing waterfalls you see beautiful people swimming through in movies and travel advertisements? Well Davis falls could easily be one of those locations. This is an amazing place to kick your Instagram feed into high gear!
To get there, you have a 1.5 hour drive in a comfortable cart pulled behind a tractor. The trip through orange groves and jungle is really nice, and we saw lots of birds and even some coatis. My favourite part is when the guides jumped out and picked some oranges for us to eat (we were lucky to be there during harvest). What a treat, fruit right off the trees!
There is a 30 minute walk through the jungle. The trail is a bit rough at the moment with some short steep sections, and there is a bit of scrambling over rocks to get to the pools at the falls, so you should be comfortable moving over a few rough sections of trail. I am not that fit and I managed it fine, so you don't need to be an athlete.
The falls are beautiful. There are two pools to swim in, one right below the falls. The water is clean and the perfect temperature for swimming. The tour gave us a lot of time to swim and sun before walking back to the tractor.
From the tractor, we made a short 5 minute walk to another pool on the river for lunch. This was the Belizean special of rice and beans, and chicken. The food was good, and they catered for the vegetarian in our group. As a bonus, we got orange juice from the local orange processing plant.
After lunch, we got to swim in a deep pool in the river next to our lunch spot. When everyone was satisfied, we climbed back into the cart and made the return trip, happily chatting to the guides and other passengers.
The guides were friendly and went out of their way to make the day enjoyable. This area is literally their back yard, and you can really tell they love the spot and are enthusiastic to share it. I cant recommend this tour enough.

My husband and i got picked up early in the morning by our guide, Alejandro, and drove to the entrance of the trail in Alta Vista village. From there, we rode on the tractor driven by Mr Junior. He is an expert at this. He drove us through 8 streams as well as thick mud (it had been raining prior to our trip).
After the ride, Alejandro gave us a couple of delicious oranges at the beginning of the trail. Then, we hiked through the forest for about a half hour following the river up. The trail is well-taken care of with a couple man-made bridges with steel foundation.
Tip: look out for some signs with silly and funny phrases along the way.
The waterfall can be heard about a half mile or less before you even see it. Just standing in front of it is a breath-taking experience. We got to swim and sit at the very bottom of the waterfall. Just feeling the rush of the water from that point feels exhilarating.
Our guide, Alejandro, is very passionate about what he does. He made sure we felt safe through all the twists and turns and made sure that we had lots of fun in what to us was a completely new experience.
After the waterfall, we rode back to another stream to have lunch with drinks followed by dessert as well as sunbathe if we wanted to. We swam a bit after eating and headed back to the begin the descent. There were some plants along the way that caught my eye (none poisonous of course). Alejandro made sure that i got some cuttings to take home. On the way back, it started to rain making the ride so much more fun! The trailer wound through thick mud never getting stuck. I am telling you the driver is an expert and the truck well maintained for these conditions!
Luckily, we had prepared for rain and packed our bags with plastic coverings so our valuables wouldn't get wet.
We rode without a worry in the world.
Summary: extraordinary, unbelievable, breathtaking. This is THE place to be!

We are sophisticated travelers and we were thrilled with our trip. Yes, the jungle and the falls were magical, I cried, actually, as I gazed up to the clouds through the mist. But more importantly, the Belizian family that hosted us us were so sweet, so knowlegeable, and so caring of our needs, that their sweet vibe eclpsed even the magic of the jungle. Unless you don't really want authentic joy, you will be thrilled you took.this adventure.

The tractor ride was incredible!!! Going through the orange groves I will never forget!! Awe brothers are very hospitable and knowledgeable! Were very kind and patient with my children. Gorgeous view! My only advice is wear long leggings for protection from the elements.
