Lots of shops around the square as well as the San Jose Church. Nothing particularly picturesque about the area.

We walked around San Jose's main square (Plaza Mijares) with some friends one evening. This is the heart of the town's activities. The main square has lots of open space, is uncluttered, and is surrounded by restaurants, cute little bars, and some art stores. There is a colonial style gazebo (kiosko) where bands sometimes play music. Every Thursday during high... More

A great place to have a drink and "mingle" with the locals. The Art Walk is good on Thursdays and Sunday nights often have community activities.

We decided to do a ship tour since we had never been to this part of Mexico. We were mostly riding on the bus all day, so it was nice to get to the destination and to be able to walk around , shop, sightsee, and eat!

Downtown San Jose is charming (old mexico style), but there is nothing special about this city square, that is, except during the art walk or special concerts where the city square is filled with vendors and music bringing it to life.

San Jose del Cabo is a cute town a short walk from all the resorts. This is a place to get local crafts and gifts. Don't miss the Thursday night Art Walk where many very talented artist show their work. We bought a picture that I thought was very reasonable. If you see something you like ask the price. You... We try to get to San Jose whenever we are staying in Cabo. The town is lovely with great shops and restaurants. This year we were treated with a traditional Mexican dance performance by young girls on the stage in the main square. So sweet. It's a great change from the bustle of downtown Cabo. Fine art and Jewelry abounds... More

Other than doing some people watching of other tourists, the main square has one gazebo and nothing else. Just commercial and government buildings.

A more modern, almost Midwestern-looking town square with a gazebo in the middle. Across from the main church.

Definitely worth it! I was so impressed at the level of talent and so many different types of mediums. It still holds some old Mexico charm there. Put aside a few hours for a Thursday night. The locally owned antique shops were so fun to go to. It helps you connect with the Baja and remind you that you're in... More
