I have been fishing ABY Charters for going on 7 years! Helio, YOYO, Tony, and Jonah, have all given their best to make sure my family, friends, and I have a great day of fishing. Plenty of Dorado fish (good eats) to Tuna, Marlin, and Skipjack for everyone. These guys get it done. Thank for another great week with my family!

Excellent fun! Excellent service! Excellent deck hands for our 5 person fishing trip. Caught 2 Marlin and numerous other fish. Lunch provided was good sandwiches and burritos. Very knowledgeable crew and capitan of the boat. I'll go back here time and time again.

Always a great fishing experience with boats that are in good condition and the captains are locals who are passionate about fishing. Oscar is my favorite captain; this year we caught a 120 pound sailfish and a dorado aka mahi mahi. Last year we caught a marlin and some 150 pound tunas. The captains are constantly changing the lures based on the conditions and are always alert. I would recommend Aby Charters to family and friends looking to catch some big fish. Over the years I've used them over five times and I've always been happy. I would highly recommend Aby Charters and can't wait to see the guys next year.

We took a fishing trip advised by the Bungalows staff. I have a son who is 21 and is wheel chair bound. He plays quad rugby, water skis, and goes to school at the University of Arizona but he is a quad and does not have use of his legs. We got to the boat at the precribed time and received our box lunch paid our fees which included the price of the 3 man boat, license, and live bait. We got to the boat and his friend and I transfered him to the fighting chair on the boat with little trouble. We then left to leave for fishing of which we had never done before and was looking forward to a great day. We trolled around for 6 hours and never got a thing so at the end of the day we went back empty handed I thought that it just was'nt our day. when we got back to the docks we saw that all the other boats were flying fishing flags for the fish that their boat had caught. As we were docking the dock hands were making fun (playfully) of the captain for coming back empty handed. We exited the boat, again without much trouble when the manager of A B Y commented that we could come back again tomorrow which we could not. On our way back the The Bungalows we were talking and my son's friend asked what the live bait was for because not once was it used, I had no answer. When we got back to the hotel we were asked how our day went by Eric, the manager, I told him that it was bad the fishing was not good. I went on and asked him what the live bait was for and he told us, "It is used to fish" I told him that the captain and his helper never touched the live bait the whole time that we were on the boat. He was totaly surprised. He called A B Y and when I ran into Eric a little while latter he told me that the captain had taken it upon himself to avoid the water were the fish were because he thought the water was to rough for my son because he was wheel chair bound. This was admitted to by the Manager of A B Y. So the money we paid for the boat and the bait, which was never used, was stolen from us because of they discrimated against us because they thought my son could not stand the rough water. They cheated my son of the adventure of trying to catch a fish which he did a lot when he could walk. Be very careful of this company even after fully admitting to thier discrimanation they did not offer any comprimise they just took our $463 dollars and took us on a 5 hour boat ride with none of the niceities.

My husband and I love to saltwater fish. Therefore, we base our vacations around the fishing seasons. We have fished in Costa Rica, Belize, the Bahamas, Hawaii, just to name a few and we have found that we enjoy Cabo the most. We travelled to Cabo 3 times in the past year and have fished with Aby Charters every time. In fact, we are purchasing property with a boat and captain included and we are still going to pay to fish with Carlos(captain) and his crew on the Rondinella that is affiliated with Aby. We have always had great experiences with Aby in reservations, efficiency of Helio and the staff in the office at the marina and of course our Captain, Carlos. We feel so fortunate that our concierge at the hotel introduced us to them in June 2010. We have always been lucky enough to catch lots of fish as well. If you are looking for a great fishing company and captain in Cabo try Aby Charters and Carlos on the Rondinella you won't be disappointed!! We are already planning our next trip with them.

Friday December 28, 2012, a full moon, and yet it was an epic day of fishing. Helio at ABY Charters took my call 5 days before and recommended we charter ABY, a 28’ Californian for our party of two. The boat was clean and met all our needs. The Captain Tony “Montana” was excellent and took care us. The deckhand, Jorge was always there when needed. Tony asked if we wanted to fish for Marlin, and I told him we wanted fish we could eat and suggested Dorado and Wahoo. He said we would find the Dorado, but few Wahoo were in the area. We left the dock at 7:00, turned in our fishing licenses, and took bait and ice on board. We headed out and turned south from Cabo approximately 10 miles. We were approximately ½ mile offshore. The trolling spread was set by 8:15 and we waited for our first strike. Ten minutes later, trolling south, the game was on with two Dorado hooked. My fiancé landed her first game fish ever, a fine Bull Dorado, with some welcomed coaching form “El Capitain.” I lost my first fish 10 feet from the boat. Afterwards Tony politely showed me I had set the drag too high. We lost no further fish that day. Over the next 1.5 hours we landed a total of 6 Dorado (25 to 45 pounds) and my fiancé caught her first Wahoo (approximately 40 pounds). She also landed four of the fish. As we had more than our limit on Dorado we headed to deeper water looking for Marlin. We found 1 interested fish, but no hook ups. After trolling a few more hours, drinking welcome beer, and eating our lunch we headed in. Six Dorado and one Wahoo flags were flying from our outriggers as El Capitain proudly powered up to full throttle and cruised the beaches of Cabo just beyond the surf line. In the harbor at 1:00 it was clear we had an EPIC morning of fishing. No other boat had more than 4 flags flying and those were all much larger with more fishermen onboard. Thank you Tony, Jorge, and Helio. We had a great day and our success was due to your expertise.

December 2nd & 4th 2011 my wife and I went out fishing on ABY Charters. On the first day of fishing we caught 6 Dorado weighing 25 to 35 lbs. Then on the 2nd day of fishing we went out with Captian Tony and we caught one 30 lb Dorado and 13 Tuna largest weighing in at 40 lbs. This was a great day of fishing. We have gone out with ABY Charters 4 times and have always came back with fish. Three of the 4 trips have been with Captain Tony and our first time out with him my wife and I each caught a Marlin. So if your looking for a great fishing trip contact Helio at ABY Charters and ask for Captian Tony. Mention that Kraig sent you and he will give you a great deal. Happy Fishing :)

I went down to Cabo with a couple of buddies last week, and I must say we had a blast and we were able to get in two full days of fishing. After arriving at the docks early; we were barraged by guy's trying to get us on their boats, I met with Helio the owner of ABY Charters, very nice, professional and knoweldgeable. He was the "Guy" well after the first trip out we caught a Big Marlin, "released alive" a bunch of Dorado and a HUGE Mahi, which was prepared by our Hotel ME Cabo, two different ways..
We re-cuperated for a couple of Days and we went out again with ABY and had another terrifc day, I gave some fish to the mates and brought back to the hotel what we could eat and was extremely happy with the entire trip esspecially fishing with Helio and his Crew!! Now, being back in Jersey, I just wish I was still in CABO...

First of all Helio and Raul are nice guys and they run the charter business. My family of 4 and I chartered a 28 ft boat for a half day(5hr). We had a couple of things against us before we even left. The first thing is that it was just a full moon and most of the time fish feed at night when that happens. Second is that the water was unusually warm so the most of the fish were not really in our area. You would have to take a long boat ride to find the proper temperature and then their was still no guarantees. We only had 5 hrs total so that was not in the cards, especially when my wife got sick within 45 min of the trip. So we ended the trip 1 hr early.
The second day fishing my son and I took a 23 ft panga boat out to try our luck for a 1/2 day(5hr). We had minimal luck catching 1 needle fish and 1 small dorado.
The captains both days tried alot of different things like: increasing and decreasing speed., different types of lures, live bait, and varying the distances from really close to shore to far away. They did their best and I knew they tried and didn't just give me a boat ride. I do alot of fishing and I tried their methods and caught fish before so it just wasn't meant to be. I will say that the things I seen like watching 20 dolphin jump out of the water at the same time was incredible to watch. Their was dozens of dolphin following us while we were fishing and that is always entertaining, The scenery going up and down the coast was great also.
Helio gave me a great price for the first charter, and gave me an even beter price for the panga boat. Raul felt so bad that he gave us a calling card so that we can use to call home to the US. If these guys were just after my money they would have said sorry about that and that would be it. Helio even said that if you don't want to go out the second day I will just cancel your reservation with no charge on your credit card. They seem like honest business men and it was just bad luck and timing why we didn't catch many fish. When I go back to cabo I will give aby charters a call again. It wasn't their fault we didn't catch many fish, and that is why they call it fishing and not catching.

I read the negative reviews prior to going fishing with this company, and I was nervous that it would be a bad experience, but we had a great experience. We did a half day trip. We had limited time because we went there on a cruise. They were ready for us as soon as we arrived, and we got out on the water quickly. Our captain and deck hand were awsome, and they got us into fish in less than an hour, and we quickly caught our limit of yellowfin tuna. We went out with our three young kids, and we all had a great time, other than feeling a little sea sick (The water was really rough that day). My husband wants to go back to Cabo, and if we do, we will definitely be fishing with Aby Charters again.
