There is lots to see, and many good restaurants but the shops are very pricey for items you can find a few blocks away for 2/3 of the price. Also there are copious amounts of peddles trying to sell you goods, come to their restaurant, or take you on a boat tour of some sort. They are kind but relentless, and there are LOTS of them. Still worth seeing though.

We have wintered in Cabo 6 to 7 weeks every year since 2014. The Marina is in the center of the action in Cabo. I walk the Marina every morning from pole to pole, meaning the opening to the ocean on both sides. It is fabulous for jogging and walking. By 6 am the fishing boats are warming up and salesman start offering to sell fishing trips. By 9 am other vendors are opening, the most common of which is the time-share salespeople. Their pitches start with a come on for something free. Free advice or directions, free tours, free golf. My advise is don't do it. You will spend the better part of a full day of your vacation listening to a high pressure sales presentation. Other marina vendors offer cuban cigars (followed by a whispered offer of illegal drugs), silver jewelry(take a magnet with you), and pricey photo's with a 26 inch iguana. Vendors are persistent. Don't stop walking unless you are patient enough to listen and don't mind saying "no, gracias", a lot. The fishing boats and the yachts are amazing to see and the marina is surrounded by shops and restaurants and the surrounding Cabo hills covered in high priced homes and condos. Puerto Paraiso Mall (including Luxury Avenue) boarders and is open to the marina boardwalk. Some of the priciest food in Cabo is served along the boardwalk. If money is no problem, indulge. Or opt for tacos or pizza which are moderately priced. Walking the Marina twice a day (morning and after dinner) has been altogether enjoyable and as long as you are a fit male or walking with someone, a relatively safe place in Mexico. A dolphin experience and a sunset dinner cruise on a pirate ship are 2 of the many attractions bordering the Marina. I have found joy in practicing my Spanish on the prolific sales people...."No estoy interesado" or with a well thought out tease, "Do you have Chocolate Cigars". My favorite made a group of iguana photo peddlers laugh, "Oh, no thank you, I just ate".

The marina is a good place to walk on a nice day. Stop by for a drink and do some eye shopping. You will be approached constantly by vendors doing sales pitch for their restaurant, fishing boat, and everything else in between. I would recommend buying gifts off the main marina walk way (lower price). The food, you will pay a little more but you are getting the marina location so that's fair.
You should definitely take a leisurely walk if you have the time at least once to see if this is for you.

This is our third trip to Marina Fiesta and loved it again. The best thing about the resort is the staff. Rowdy and Samuel at the front gate were great and always greeted us with smiles.
Check in was easy and we got a room on the 3rd floor facing the marina. It was very nice and was spotless. The cleaning staff was always working to keep the premises clean. All of the staff wore masks and they said they were vaccinated. When we were there last May hardly any of the staff had been vaccinated.
The La Palapa staff of Irma, Rosario, Fredy and Gabriel always provided wonderful service. The bar staff came around frequently and were great. It was great that Raymondo, Vladimir and Angel were still there and remembered us from our last visit.
One of the best improvements of our visit was the concierge services. Last time it took a long time to be able to talk to him. On this trip the covid testing was much easier to sign up for and we didn't have to use the computer to finish our appointment. There were 2 QR codes that we scanned and completed and registrations on our phone. The appointments were at 3 pm the day before departure home and our results were on our phones very quickly.
The concierge also was able to give us our Dine Out reservations for all week so we didn't have to come back each day to make a new reservation. The food overall was good. We like the all inclusive part so we don't have to worry about costs. We did eat in town 3 times but otherwise ate at the resort. Drinks were great! I do wish that they had a bigger selection of wine and beer but we did fine.
Can't wait to plan our next trip.

The first day while here everything was great and wonderful our boat driver was amazing and my mistake was not calling him for pickup service when we left the Mango. Here in Cabo they have a dock fee of 1 dollar per person which is good the whole day. When returning to the dock on the second day with a scam taxi boat pickup service- total set up! The dock port person extorted us for the fee again refusing to let us out; the other couple like us had paid earlier but he was like OK I’ll just pay again to get out of here. He gave the dude a 10 USD and they refused to give him his change of 8. This happened at dock F to the right of where you go to your cruise line. Beware of this SCAM!

We stayed at Solamar Resort and found the accommodations very spacious and the staff extremely helpful. The resort is a short walk to the marina where any sort of excursion or shopping could be had. The food was okay at the resort and definitely worth the $72 upgrade to all inclusive. Our best experience was in Los Barrilos where we rented a house on the beach that included 2 smaller “consitas” for only $900 per night. The property sleeps 30, has a private pool and beach area and included a dinner prepared for you the first night which was delicious. We leased 5 ATV’s which were so much fun! The property owner also owns the ATV rentals which only added $500, for 5 days for each ATV. We plan to go back.

There is alot to do in this area including dining, shopping, and water based activities. You can walk 1 or 2 blocks to find some more authentic areas and you can feel safe about it. The Marina has a mall, which has a food court for a cheaper meal option as well as a movie theater.
The only downside is that you cant make it 5 steps without someone trying to sell you something. (including drugs). That is the only reason I give it 4/5 stars!

The shops, restaurants and clubs are fun and plentiful. Opportunities for water activities like whale watching, snorkeling, and sunset cruises are also abundant.
However the peddlers with in-your-face selling are a major nuisance. Similarly, you can never escape the timeshare sales pitches. We even encountered it inside a restaurant. A woman introducing herself as the restaurant manager began with pleasant conversation about our meal, where were we staying, etc. Gradually, she eased into offering discount activities if we would just come to a free breakfast and presentation the next day. I wish they would outlaw this crap. Once you learn to recognize and ignore the constant selling, there is plenty to enjoy about the Marina.

We went fishing on the and caught two Mahi Mahi the captain Gil dock 3 the boat is Yasenya 2 was amazing and when our friend got a little sea sick he brought him back on dock and took us back out. It was so relaxing and safe life vest on board and his first mate fileted our fish so we could take it back to cook. I may not have spelled the boat name correctly.

How much is a taxi from the airport to the Tesoro in the marina area? I assume we can get a taxi right out if the airport. Thx

Kind of expensive as it is a flat rate without any room to haggle. Uber can not come into the airport to receive guests. However once you are in the Los Cabos area you can use the Uber option and it is very inexpensive.

Does anyone know if there are taxi boats that run from the marina to Medano Beach and what they charge round trip.

There is water taxis but the marina to Medano beach is a beautiful walk. The closer to marina there was not as many pedlars. Further down about a 20 min walk there’s a market. Very busy

just wondering if there is lighting all night long in the marina while walking around . I have some elderly people visiting they want to confirm that there was proper lighting throughout the marina all night ? If there isn’t lighting all night what would be the reason ?

It has lighting all night long. There are hundreds of Multi-Million dollar yachts at the Marina. There is plenty of lighting and security.

There is everything you will need at the marina. There are hard everywhere so take your pick. The shopping is good and around the eest? end area there are a lot of shops to walk through ( souvenirs mostly) this is a lively place with a lot of people trying to sell you something regarding going on a boat and sightseeing, scuba, etc. Have fun my wife and I did!

Hello,
I will be staying @ Santa Fe next week and have a few questions. Regarding taxi verses water taxi traveling to Marina La Paz. Which would you recommend? How far is the Marina from the hotel? Any suggestions regarding hotel experience? Any excursion company's you recommend?
Thanks,
Kim

Hi, if you're going to use a taxi, i always have the hotel provide one. Ask your hotels concierge which are the best/safe to use. They can or should be able to tell you how much $$ it will cost. The same for the water taxis. we've only used it once but it was a fun and unique way to get where you need to go.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to bet a set standard fee. I always suggest to my friends that they use the hotel concierge for the best companies. Also many of them will negotiate, and you can get a much better price, Instead of a per person fee we paid a much lower fee for 4 people. whether or not you want to negotiate/haggle over the fee, ALWAYS settle on a price before accepting the ride or service.

How easy is it to find a deep sea fishing excursion there at the Marina? With so many vendors holding signs and hounding you for an excursion I would think you could get a better DEAL there vs peebooking. Yes? No? Thoughts? What is the average price for booking at the marina?

a good deal is $570 for 6 people on a descent size boat, try bargain them, But you won't get better then $500
PS this includes beers and drinks
