About
We are an American owned and operated charter company that has been operating with local crews for 15 years. From Pangas, to cruisers, to sportfishers, to luxury yachts, we have a boat for every budget. We were tourist anglers like you, and after many trips to Cabo we decided we had to come down and try to make a dream a reality. Being in your shoes for many years, we know what the our clients are looking for and expect when they come join us for a day on the water. If you've gotten this far in your research you know this sport isn't cheap. While we aren't the cheapest, nor the most expensive, we feel like we provide the absolute best value for your dollar. There are a lot of costs that come with trying to make sure you have a great day on the water and without top of line gear, electronics, and well kept boats you don't stand a chance out there. We are a small family operation and we enjoy getting to know our customers on a personal level. Come give us a shot and we'll show you the Team RedRum difference.

Cabo is 'the billfish capital of the world' and there is NO shortage of choices of folks hawking their skills to take you offshore to hook a few. This is exactly the reason that you go with a trusted and reliable captain and company.
The RedRum group was highly recommended by a family friend and he could not have been more spot on.
Toby, one of the owners, is a joy to work with and he put us in the extremely capable hands of Captain Juan and 1st Mate Jesus on the Rumrunner.
The word in town was 'the bite had been slow' over the past few days, so we were privately concerned that our day would be something of a bust.
We were very wrong.
Capt. Juan knew right where to go and Jesus had all elements in place so we were trolling the moment the engines slowed.
When our first stop was not producing, lines came in and we were gunning to the next location, this time with dolphin escorting us off our bow for much of the way.
Lines hit the Rumrunner's wake a mile or more from where a dozen or more other craft were clustered up together. I admit that I was wondering to myself 'Why the hell aren't we over there'? Well, I will never know if any of those boats were successful, but Juan had a beautiful striped Martin on the line within 5 minutes. This fellow gave me a brilliant battle, complete with long runs and stunning aerials, for 45 tiring minutes. Adding to the scene, a pod of humpback whales frolicked a hundred or so yards off our starboard cheering one of us on. One of these behemoths seemed to take on the role of cheerleader as they rolled to the side several times and waved his massive pectoral fin in the air a dozen or more times.
The guys hoisted the tired marlin over the gunnel with care ... my first marlin and close to 9 feet .. a few pictures and she was back in the sea in under 4 minutes.
My wife was next in the chair less than 30 minutes later, fighting her own fish. Before Jesus could even pull in the remaining lines, 2 more marlin were on. I took one rod with a rod belt, while the circle hook rig allowed us to let the third fish to drop off on his own accord.
The skill and wisdom of the crew directed both of us in landing both our fish without tangling lines.
By the time I landed my third of the day, this one pushing well past 10', we were exhausted and blissfully happy.
In short, an amazing day with the finest crew thanks to an outstanding company that has been doing this for 30 years

I cannot recommend RedRum fishing charters highly enough.

5 MARLIN (93" & 94") AND 3 TUNA - 31' Redrum with Omar as Captain and Victor and deck hand. Listen, I'm from Oregon, and my son is an avid fisherman and bow hunter. When we planned the trip, Redrum was recommended on a Facebook group I belong to. These are people that come to Cabo often. Victor is a very experienced deck hand and it showed. Omar got us on the fish within an hour and we landed 3 marlin right off the back. My son and I were reeling in marlin at the same time. We told Omar to move us to the tuna and we landed 3 yellowfin tuna. The tuna dried up quickly so we went after dorado and caught two more marlin so we were both reeling in marlin at the same time again. It was a total adrenaline rush and we enjoyed every single minute of it. This outfit knows what they are doing, they've been around a long time and the service was top notch from beginning to end. They even vacuum packed our fish for the plane ride home and recommended a restaurant to cook us a meal, which was phenomenal. I will have these memories with my son to last a lifetime and I couldn't' be more grateful. The prices are on the higher end if you walk down to the marina and ask for boats, but you get what you pay for. We took a less expensive trip later in the week and it was nothing like what we experienced on the Redrum. The boats was dirty and unorganized and the crew barely spoke English. We got a few bottom fish, which was perfect, but didn't hold a candle to Redrum Sportfishing.

Fished two days with Redrum, one on LaNueva and one on 19’s toy. It was a great experience that started with a bang! First day produced a Blue Marlin early in the morning on the one and only bite of the day! The second day was action packed, but the sea was extremely choppy and it was storming due to the hurricane. The port was going to close early in the day, however the crew still produced and with a quick limit of dorado the crew brought us back safe and sound. I have to mention it was on our return to the dock that I did have some trouble with the receptionist or maybe someone they would call their manager. As long as you stay clear from her you could have a great time! But if you do run into her your experience could go from a 5 out of 5 to just a 4! She is nasty, but the owner was an extremely nice guy who seemed genuine.

This was our 3rd time fishing with Redrum and they always take care of us! The boat captains are extremely knowledgeable, very professional and do everything they can to put us on fish. The staff at the office is very attentive and always handles any problems that may arise.

Redrum is a great outfit and we highly recommend them for fishing in Cabo.

I recently visited Cabo with 2 girlfriends and we decided to go fishing. One of us had never fished and the other two of us were amateurs at best. Captain Ramon and his colleague Marcos ensured we had an exceptional experience. Despite our obvious novice, they treated us like any other serious fishing group with the goal of catching some great fish and having a phenomenal time. On our half-day tour, we caught a nice sized tuna (10 lbs), a 300+ lb. marlin and a 90 lb mako shark who inadvertently grabbed bait intended for the 2nd nearby marlin. We girls did all the reeling (with masterful navigating by Ramon) and tutorials/advice from Marcos. The seas were rough that day, but Ramon maneuvered such that it hardly impacted us.They also were extremely patient in answering our barrage of questions and teaching us the ropes. Ramon and Marcos were always going out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves including even attending to our music preferences via the onboard sound system and enduring our endless picture/video taking. I can't say enough about these two, the lovely, clean boat they put us on, the attention to detail and the ease of doing business with this outfit in general. AMAZING experience.

We hired Redrum for a full day of fishing the Monday before the recent storm. We set off early, eventually catching 9 mahi-mahi before 11:00 a.m. we then went out further, but got no bites on bigger fish. Regardless, Juan and Jesus were excellent and we had a great experience.

Great trip fishing for dorado and marlin. The crew was friendly and professional. The staff made sure we took off with out a hitch. We chartered a day trip but crushed our limit of dorado in 30 minutes, 8 dorado total so we spent the rest of the time looking for marlin we caught a great one and returned it to the ocean. They filleted the fish and vacuum sealed it for us about 30lbs in total. I would highly recommend them

My family and I recently fished with Redrum Charters in Cabo San Lucas for the first time during spring break. The service from Tiffany and Benny was top notch from the moment we first booked and their boats, captains, and crew exceeded our expectations! In spite of a full moon and slower than normal conditions, our captains Alex and Ulysses manged to put us on three beautiful striped marlin that were photographed and quickly and cleanly released. We saw many humpback whales, turtles and dolphin during our two days of fishing and we can't thank Captains Alex and Ulysses and Orlando for a truly spectacular trip!
The boats were extremely clean and the equipment was in great condition. These guys know how to fish and it shows!
Also stayed in their villa at Portofino and highly recommend it as well! First class all the way!

Many thanks to you all and can't wait to see you all again!

This place was recommended to me by a local friend down there that buys his bait from them. Did not disappoint. They set me up with a half day panga, met me down there early that morning, and provided us with all the bait we needed. Caught a bunch of dorado and had a blast. Capt Carlos was a good guy.

My son and I went fishing on the ReelRum 28 foot boat on February 25, 2020. I just wanted to share this photo that we already have in a picture frame! This striped marlin was released safely back into the water. Thank you to Tiffany for all your help booking our boat at the last minute. Ramon and Julio were excellent guides/fisherman and hooked onto this fish for my son in rough conditions. They worked hard to find the fish! They were excellent to work with and to be on the water with. Thanks again!!
