I initially reached out to Jose through email to handle our complaint privately, but unfortunately never received a response back which reflects how little La Isla Tour cares for repeat customers. My family and I were extremely disheartened and disappointed at how our excursion went back in June. La Isla crew is very experienced and I know they saw us, specifically the woman in charge, really excited to do the excursion when we all boarded considering how much food and beverages we brought on board. However, while I agreed to the plan of where the boat would go as it was exactly the same itinerary as we did in September of 2021, once we got out the water was extremely choppy and we were simply drifting and sitting in these nauseating waves. It was very apparent how many of us were feeling ill/getting sick. We went from a happy group to a completely silent group, my cousin was throwing up over the railing, my uncle was throwing up in the bathroom and almost fainted, my mother was throwing up in a ziplock bag, of the 22 in the group 12 were very seasick. It took for my uncle to turn pale white and almost faint for your crew to ask what we wanted to do. While I thought going to dock so we could swim would be the best idea, the boat still moved at a glacier pace until we ultimately decided a few minutes later that too many of us were sick and needed to head back. At that point, the boat went much faster and we didn’t feel those huge waves affecting us. We were out on the water for maybe an hour and the response your crew gave was “we can’t control Mother Nature and since there was a storm yesterday it’s normal for the water to be that way”. While I understand all of that, during the beginning before departing the crew goes over all their rules and regulations and safety precautions, I think it would have been proper to let us know how choppy the water is and give us some type of warning. I can’t imagine that any patron would find that type of choppy excursion enjoyable. I raved about your boat, crew, and service to my family and we were so excited, but what was most disappointing is the lack of help and cold response from your crew after having paid a 4-hour excursion and providing an undeserving gratuity to the crew for an hour of water time. It left a bad taste with all of us.
Maybe writing this does not matter because we are one of many people who come and go, but I wanted to let La Isla know how we felt and were saddened at how the situation was handled.
