We have been going to Cabo for the last seven years and rent from Avis every time with no problem. You only need to purchase the Third-Party Liability in Mexico not collision and everything else. I had been scammed one year at Budget too and was also held hostage with the sales guy sitting on my car and wouldn't move... More

I booked on line for a one week car rental priced at $460. When we arrived they shuttle you to the actual place and charge double for insurance. Does not matter of you have your policy I formation. Benjamin scammed me. Upon arrival to our wonderful hotel, there was a Dollar car rental for $40 per day including insurance totaling... More

I will tell you what happened to me, and I will tell you what you may be able to counter their scam. As you have read, the typical case is that you rent a car for a week for $200, and they will tell you that it will be $600 out the door with insurance. It is true that you... More

Thrift car rental is apparently pulling this scam regularly. We too booked a car through a travel website and paid for insurance for driving in Mexico. They refused to honor the insurance and wanted $590 for insurance!

Went to pick up my prepaid car rental from the airport and was told the amount I prepaid was just for the website that did the reservation. I still had to pay them the full rental amount of almost 500 dollars for one week. The company I prepaid did not refund me because they said it was a canceled reservation... More

We stopped at the beautiful port of Cabo San Lucas on a sunny Sunday and the place was rocking. The many restaurants that line the promenade were full of patrons drinking the local beer, tequilas and enjoying the music and wonderful ambience. The Tourist centre provided maps and an endless list of activities and enjoyments. We took a ride around... More

I'm beginning to see a trend with many of the car rental agencies in MX. Like many others, Fox is trying to rip us off for $400+. When we rented the vehicle via Expedia, the cost was $142 for our trip. When we arrived, they said we had to have at least liability insurance. I told them that I had... More
