A must visit if you are for 2 or more days at "Los cabos". Only accesible by boat and not always swimmable as some days could have strong currents, rough waives or high tides. Must take the boat at the marina (for a cheap fare, or included in one of the many tours sailing daily). Be advised of the following: There is no pier or dock at the beach, meaning you likely will get wet to get in and out therefore bring only the necessary, and any valuable inside a waterproof bag. Best time in the mornings. There are no facilities at the beach, only a single vendor of sodas, beers and snacks. Bring your own refreshments, beach umbrellas and towels, and plenty sun tan lotion. There is absolutely no shade, so, the sand gets very hot, bring appropriate shoes. Once you are there you will be amazed by the unique and marvelous landscape, clarity of the water (beatiful for snorkeling) and incredible views. Well worth the trip.

Playa del Amor and Divorce beach are connected and only accessible by water. They are both absolutely beautiful. They are a must see, even more so than the arch in my opinion. We got a very cheap (I think we paid $7 round trip/person) glass bottom boat that showed us the arch and then dropped us at the beach, promising to pick us up two hours later (which they did). Honestly, the whole thing was a little hectic just because you worry about getting picked up, bargaining for the right price, having everything you need out there, etc. but it is so worth it. Definitely wear a swimming suit and bring whatever you need (nobody is out there selling anything so bring water, etc.). I thought it was gorgeous, and a really cool experience, being able to see two different bodies of water at once.

We spent the day here and had so much fun swimming and taking beautiful pictures it's truly so peaceful and serene there. The only negative is there are some vendors trying to sell their products be it jewelry or food. it's a must do!

This review is only for the water taxi that got us there. I didn’t realize you could go from the marina but even if I had known that we probably wouldn’t of wanted to Uber over there to then get a boat so we just took the lazy route and took a boat from the medano Beach for 18 dollars per person including a tour and then we were dropped on the beach. the guy who ran the operation lied and told us that it was calmer over there than on medano; that was not the case it was not swimmable and it got rougher by the minute.
he told us if we wanted to come back earlier than two hours just find a guy with a walkie-talkie on the beach and he will get the boat back. those guys on the beach don’t even see you as human you’re just cattle and they r there to wrangle you up for the most tips possible even when we told him I wasn’t feeling well he kept lying saying 10 mins but no boat.
Finally the decide to put us on a dif boat than we came in. The ocean was so rough they were having difficulty loading people people were acting desperate like they were refugees pushing and shoving to get on the boat I was almost seriously injured one half my body was dangling off the side of the boat if my friend hadn’t been there to help shove me on who knows what could’ve happened. then she was almost injure trying to climb the ladder and some woman shoved her to the side to get to it first.
then I had to change boats in the ocean because our driver finally showed up so he pulled his boat up next to the boat I was on and I switched like some James Bond stunt and after all that one of the guys on the beach at the audacity to harass us for a tip. Get accurate wind / sea conditions before going bc these guys clearly don’t care about your safety.

Be aware of the vendors as you get off!! My husband and I took a water taxi and the man in the taxi was very kind. As we hopped onto the beach a man right away helped us off the boat and took us to his stand offering cold beers and drinks. He said this is for all tourists here. We had no cash on us because we left everything at our resort to avoid being pit pocketed. We declined the Drinks at first and then we decided to just have one beer for the sake of a picture on the beach holding a cold one. My husband went and the guy gave it to him and said enjoy and my husband left with the beer. As we were leaving the island getting back on the boat, the vendor ran up to my husband as soon as he saw him and said “you gonna pay?.” We were confused!! He didnt mention how much or the fact that it wasn’t free? He made it seem like it was included with the boat tour! He even let my husband completely walk away to the other side of the island without paying. He then proceeded to tell my husband to pay and my husband told him he has no cash. Then the man told him to make me, the wife, DANCE for him and his friends!! When my husband denied all of this he started calling him all kinds of names. We got off that beach asap. He went nuts. It left a bad taste in our mouths.

Lovers beach is the best beach in Cabo by far. We hiked to it from Play Grande. Not an easy hike over steep rocks but totally worth it. Since we were on the pacific side we saw Divorce beach first but no swimming allowed there. Lovers beach was enjoyable, the water was great and the locals were awesome. My daughter got beautiful corn rows for $15. We had to haggle a bit to get a taxi back to the marina but ended up paying $20 for three of us which was worth it. Unfortunately by 3pm the entirety of lovers beach is in the shade so we had to leave because even the taxi serves were dwindling by then.
We also went to Santa Maria and Chileno beaches. This Rs boyh had painful rough stones and murky water. Although Lovers is closer to town it is nicer. Be aware you can not get to see the arch from lovers beach.

We were given too high rates for boat service round-trip ($12-$15 per person round-trip), after just the day before someone had offered to take us there for $5. So we decided to hike it out there on foot. We began from Playa El Corsario and climbed along the rocks, staying low and close to the water. Note, it was low tide when we went which made the trek slightly easier. It was an interesting and unique way to see it due to the fascinating rock formations only visible to an adventurous hiker. We made it to the beach in about 40 minutes. The trek made the arrival all the more breathtaking and rewarding. Beautiful views, nice snorkeling spot with lots of fish and coral. An interesting view point to stand on the edge of the world.

Worth the few bucks to take a water taxi out to the Arches for some walking about and snorkeling. Just be careful to swim only on the inside and not in the open ocean. It's a beautiful and isolated walk about and great for photos. You can walk down and around the Arches and take in the resorts there too.

This beach is amazing ! there's no gimmicks or anything of that sort like restaurants or shops nothing. It's just water, sand, and rocks. I love the peacefulness of it all. The waves crash on the beach really hard so it's beautiful to see. You can walk all the way to the right of the beach to climb some rocks so you could see how the water crashes with the rocks. It's mesmerizing. If you keep hiking/climbing these rocks to the other side you'll find an isolated beach that nobody usually goes to. it's really small but it's even more romantic than the first one because it's so private.
I was there dancing with my love while boats passed by in the distance. One person passed by but that's it. I love this beach!

It is a part of two beaches adjacent to each other (Lovers and Divorce Beaches) and perfect place to set up shop for a day while exploring close by Pelican Rock for some under water action.
Only accessible by water taxi it is best idea to prepare yourself for longer stay and arrange pick up at later time once you there.
On sunny nice day traffic can be annoying.
Lot of people visit the spot so be prepared that it might be not as romantic as you might think, but still strongly recommended while in Cabo

You need a boat to get to lovers beach, even if you try to get up and over the hills via the trails you see in the mountains its all gated off. If you are a guest at Solmar resort you may be able to walk over some cliffs from Divorce beach then on to Lovers but i would do it.

Is it still possible to rent kayaks so that we can paddle to Lover's Beach on our own? If so, is there a vendor that is recommended? Cost per hour? Thanks!!

Yes kayaks for rent are available at Medano Beach or at the Marina; I saw quite a few kayakers at Lover's Beach. I do not know other details.

To get to this beach you can take a taxi boat or do a hike up to the top of the mountain and all the way down. I did the hike from the dog trainer property. The owner, Enrique Perrón, can take you for the hike at 9:30 or at 17h. Is free but you can tip him. He is very smart and knows the place more than any guide.
The hike is very short and the view on the top is amazing. When I visited, there was a red flag on the beach and we were not permitted to swim in the bigger beach but only in the small one (where the boats drop the tourists). There are big waves abd the locals say that the current pulls you down.
There is a lot of current in all the beaches in general in this part of baja california, so you have to be careful and if you are a good swimmer, there is no problem.
Also you can take a long walk and make sure you bring enough water and food as fortunately you won't find any sellers on the beach.
To come back you can do the hike or take a taxi boat. Be careful with the taxi boats because they are going to try to rip off your money. They must charge only 100 pesos for the trip to the beach and come back. If they charge you more, there is an orange building in the marine for protection of the tourist, if they charge you more, you can complaint there and they will have to return your money.

Can you walk from Cannery Beach to Lovers' Beach?

Jennifer,
Yes, you can but you will need to take the hiking trail thru Mt solmar all the way to the peek and then there is a small trial where you can do go down to Divorce beach and then walk over to Lover's beach, its a bit steep so be careful.

Hi Ginny
We are in our late 60's. Would you recommend the visit to Lovers Beach? Does not sound like it's easy to get there. Thank you.

Depending on the waves, it might be tricky for you to get in and out of the boat so I probably wouldn't recommend it for you although I'm 64 and didn't have any problems. As mentioned by others, there are no amenities there like chairs or umbrellas or restrooms.

From WikiTravel:
Land's End(includes Lover's Beach)— Known for its exceptional views and photo taking opportunities, this area is comprised of a large cluster of rock formations that were carved into fantastic shapes by wind and sea. During low tide, many visitors like to walk here along Playa del Amante (Lover's Beach) because it allows for a better view of an eroded passageway called the Arch of Poseidon. You can also observe Los Frailes, two rock islets that are frequented by sea lions.

Does anyone know if any of the boats carry saftey vests for baby's? I have a 14 month old. I would like to take a boat tour. Or should I bring my own vest? Thank you in advance

All boats are required to have life jackets for everyone.
But ask to see it before you board.
