The concierge at Le Blanc referred us to Gaviota, and wow was it fantastic! We spent 2 days on Gaviota V and caught 4 striped marlin, saw 4 more who wouldn’t go for the bait, and caught 10 yellowfin tuna. Highly recommend Gaviotas.

We booked this trip through our resort, Villa Del Palmar. We shared the boat with another couple, so that made four of us. The seas were rough that day, but we all limited out on Dorado!

I've always wanted to go fishing in Cabo, and my son had never been fishing so we thought we would give it a go. We found Jorge on the deck and arranged a trip for the next morning. Tip: They took cash only so make sure you have enough cash on you because the ATM at the dock will rip you a new one! The boat was a nice size and very clean. It had a covered area and small bathroom. The crew asked what kind of fish we wanted. We told them anything! We just wanted to catch something for the kiddo. They told us a marlin would be a 2 hour ride out. We decided against that because our trip was only 5 hours told, and we just wanted ANY fish. The trip started out great. The weather was amazing and we sailed by the Arch. We saw dolphins, a whale and even a sea turtle! They took us really far out though into rough waters. Guess they got ambitious because they saw another boat had caught a marlin. The waves were really big and the boat rocked so hard. Now I'm not one to usually get seasick, but I ended up throwing up as did my son. They spend a good two hours taking the boat out into rough waters then staying in the rough waters while we puked our guts out. I was so relieved when they finally turned around! Once we got back into smooth waters, the ride was fine. They switched lures several times as we traveled back to the dock. We did not catch one single fish. I was so upset since we had told them it didn't matter what we caught, we just wanted to catch something. I would have been happy with some bonito (one of my favorite fish by the way). When we got back to the dock, the seals were waiting for some fish. We got to feed the seals which saved the trip for my son. He loved it! Honestly, as it was our first time and with a kid, we would have been fine with small fish on smooth waters. Even if we didn't catch anything, it would have been a great trip out to sea since the weather was so wonderful. I am upset they spent most of our trip taking us out so far and into such rough waters. Please talk to your customers to get a better sense of what they are looking for. Not everyone is after the big fish. My son felt the swaying of the boat into the night. He refused to go on another boat again. Our last day in Cabo was ruined by this trip

We arranged a fishing boat through Shore Excursioneer during a cruise that stopped in Cabo, and were placed with Gaviota. Gaviota V was a clean and well maintained boat, and Capt. Antonio and Pedro worked hard to give us a good half-day of fishing. Even though we started after 10 am because of late arrival of our ship, they had us trolling a half hour after we left the ship, and hooked up 15 minutes later. They stuck with fishing after most of the fleet had headed in, and got us a second hookup in the process. I have fished Cabo several times, and can say this team did everything right to find fish for us, and based on our experience I would recommend Gaviota's fleet and Antonio and Pedro in particular. Very pleased with how they worked to search for fish, re-supply live bait, and take care of our group of 4.

We decided to take Gaviotas VIII out to do some tuna fishing. Captain Rudy and Edgar did a great job locating them and we were fortunate enough to land a dozen beauties about 30-50 pounds each.
