About
Kanto Lampo Waterfall is located in the heart of Bali’s rainforest. It's best known for its iconic rock formation, which gives the waterfall an impressive step-like appearance popular with travelers and photographers. Here, you can take pictures from within the cascading water and also dip in the surrounding pools afterward. The waterfall is a short 5-minute walk down the stairs from the entrance. The best way to visit Kanto Lampo is with one of the local waterfall tours, which will take you to a series of the best waterfalls Bali has to offer, all in one day. – Tripadvisor

Busy but nice for a quick dip
This was a refreshing mid day stop while we made our way around the attractions in Ubud. It is very busy and people were queuing to pose for pictures at the waterfall in a pretty respectful manner but the area in front of the waterfall was very busy with people waiting. We did find the quick hike up to the nearby Tan Hana Cave worthwhile and only took a few minutes - just past here is a good spot to look at the waterfall from a cliff. The area is quite green and we saw quite a few people lounging undisturbed on the rocks and just up the creek. The place costs 20K to enter per person and you buy tickets before going down the stairs to the waterfall and then there will be a spot to verify the ticket about 20 steps down. There is a change room where you can wash your feet but you may still feel a little bit exposed because even though they are raised up there is an unobstructed view of the outside. There is a restaurant halfway down the stairs to the waterfall, some souvenir stalls, lockers and toilets in the area as well. I believe there were recommendations to pay some small bills to use the toilets and some of the facilities in the area too. Getting to the place is easy by Gojek/Grab and they will allow drop off but if you need pickup you must go to the main road because the locals will not allow pickup in this area unless it is a local taxi. There are places to park the scooters near the ticketing office and a few car spots in a parking lot further away. We brought our water shoes and are glad we did because the stairs getting down to the area are a little wet and the creek is rocky and doesn't have the best visibility. We saw a pretty big spider near one of the statues but a local shared that it was harmless. There are lots of waterfalls in this area and you might want to seek out a cluster of them if you don't want to wait for your solo shots.

Go at the right time for a good experience!
We went to this waterfall at 9:30am and it was the perfect time for less crowds. There was a lockers right next to it for 5k and also supplies i.e., towels, flip flops to purchase. We didn’t line up for the main waterfall as there were parts around to take photos but I would say it took 15 minutes. If you have a guide take pictures, remember to tip them (they are very good at their job getting all the angles and poses for you!). There was also a small pool, walking around up the river and a cave. It is a gorgeous location absolutely surrounded by nature and hasn’t been ruined with tourist attractions such as swings.

    Stunning.
It's well known for a reason - It's absolutely stunning. Probably the most beautiful waterfall I saw in Bali. The more obnoxious tourist do love to pose for 85 years in dresses and crazy poses in front of it, so I'd recommend going earlier in the morning. You'll get wet under the waterfall itself, but not a ton of full on swimming options. There are lockers available for 5k.

    Picturesque waterfall near Ubud
Easy walk down to falls, but strenuous to climb back up…take your bathing suit or shorts if you wanna a photo in of in front of waterfalls. Kinda slippery of course as you reach the bottom of stairs. 20.000 rupiah cost is reasonable.

    Wonderful waterfall
Beautiful waterfall, very accessible, not many steps. I don't understand why people queue up to have the waterfall all to themselves for a photo. I have been to many waterfalls in Thailand and Vietnam but never seen this before. The waterfall is for everyone. Anyhow it's worth a visit.

    great falls with some caveats
this waterfall is fantastic but it seems to be a popular instagram site. there is always a line to take photos. nobody is frolicking in the water. probably also because the water has too many people in line waiting to take photo against the falls. for the less hassle and miniaturized version of kanto lampo, consider goa rang reng waterfall

Hard to reach as you need to go deep down and on the way back it is so hard to claim up stairs. Place is so beautiful but so crowded and people do not respect the queue. There are local guys who can take professional pictures for just idr15-20K. There is no convenient changing room or toilet. You need to have dry clothes to change as you will definitely get wet.

Unless you’re curating your instagram, skip it. No one can just swim and enjoy being under the falls because for whatever reason, people think they can have it to themselves for their solo with the waterfall staged pictures. They should have photoshoot hours with higher rates during before or after regular admissions so this can be avoided. Bali is legit the worst for the nonsense - not the only site this occurs here.

This is pretty but it was absolutely packed and hard to access from the front. If you can imagine, you come down the path and arrive just to the left of the falls. There is a cliff face in front of you, and the waterfall falls into a river that continues in front of you. So to get a front on view of the waterfalls, you have to get into a narrow river and walk up to stand in front of the falls. There were lines of people waiting to stand under the waterfall in various places to get the perfect instagram photo. Honestly, I'd do Taman Sari again and skip Kanto Lampo.

It’s a nice small waterfall, cheap entry price and the water on a hot day to stand under is beautiful. Unfortunately it’s not a very large area and with so many tourists there when we went not much room to move or swim. Waters to shallow. Nice falls though so allow half an hour for a quick cool off.

Not too far from Ubud Centre and it's fine to go by a car. The waterfall is cool and rocky. The enterance fee is affordable (IDR 20K). You'd better have change of clothes cause you should swim to get to the waterfall.

If you're going, make sure you take your swimming shorts! Go down a huge number of stairs, pay your 20,000 rupiah entrance fee and enjoy. The free lockers are at the top of the stairs. After that, the closer you get, the more you pay. Also, watch out as some of the stairs towards the bottom can be wet and very slippery. Then just enjoy the cool water coming down the falls. Can be crowded sometimes but still a great place to cool off on a hot day.

Stopped by as passing at this waterfall. There is a small charge to go down but there are toilets and free parking on site with a couple of refreshment stalls at halfway point. Its about 5 min walk down steps to falls but if you want to take pic in front of falls you will have to wade through water. Our pic was just from a viewpoint at the side. Pretty, but not much going on

This is really worth visiting! Gorgeous and stunning, and this falls over racks is perfectly cascaded and has plenty of beautiful photo opportunities. The crowd was not too bad when we went which was around late morning on a weekday. There is an orderly Q to take your personal photos and it didn't that take long to wait. The hike into the falls does require going down steps so do note it might be challenging for elderly, small kids or those with mobility issues.
There are friendly and helpful local guides at the fall, who are great at taking photos (they seem to know all the functions in each phone type so well!) for a tip (up to you to tip! I've seen tips ranging from 20k to 50k but please tip!)
