The McDonald Jones Stadium needs updating with its organisation of major events - better signage, lifts, traffic, queue, transport and parking management; better communications with the travelling public, including people with disability, and those travelling to the venue from far away and attending for the first time. The management needs to think about the venue from the spectators’ point of view. Otherwise, lots of travellers will think twice about booking tickets to events at this Newcastle stadium.

Bay labelling poor to non existent and all of the stadium except the back rows and corporate boxes are open to the elements: first the sun cooks you, and then you freeze.
Wouldn’t go there given a choice, but have to for work. Food and beverages are expensive- especially for the disability pensioners I accompany. Not being able to afford to buy stuff there like other people do makes them feel excluded. Access isn’t exactly stellar for them, either.

We went to Knights Vs Roosters and had a great experience at the stadium. Fast and easy to get in, short queues for beer and food and great views of the pitch from the grandstand.
This is the first major stadium I’ve been to where there are no provisions for spectators to use public transport. There’s signs everywhere not to drink drive, but there’s no buses back to the city centre or train station, and no taxi rank. It’s very poorly thought out and should be addressed.

This is, by far the best ground i have been to in recent memory to watch Rugby League.
Over 17,000 fans in on a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of facilities, easy access....plenty of parking on the streets around the ground (free) if you're willing to walk 5mins....we we were....
Great to have a family hill to sit on...plenty of undercover grand stands too

The stadium is old and out dated, the large screens need replacing and everything else needs to be updated.

While visiting Newcastle and the Hunter the family attended the knights V Wests game. This was a great day out and would recommend families to visit. The stadium and facilities where well laid out and the atmosphere was family orientated, even allowing kids on the field after the game; my son thought this was great. the amenities are clean and tidy, and the food was priced well for this type of venue. it is good to see that the knights management have put the importance on families. All the staff where friendly and professional, When we entered the stadium through the main entrance with kids intow and a basket full of snacks, (which we where unsure if we could bring in) the security officer Scott greeted us with a smile and the most professional/friendly attitude that I have seen in 25 years of management. He had the kids and adults smiling and laughing all the way through the turnstiles. His attitude towards his job and the reputation of the Knight's Stadium was a credit to management. Congratulations The Knights and McDonald Jones Stadium. A great family day out. 10/10

We were in the Andrew Johns stand and felt very close to the action but there was a good vantage point from every seat in the stadium. The stadium still has a family-friendly hill that the "big city" stadiums lack which is nice to see. The people who work here are friendly and extremely helpful, facilities are clean and food and beverages reasonably priced. The Knights fans are dedicated and well-behaved, everyone was there in support of their team, so the environment was family-friendly.

Watched NRL and Oz/NZ test. For the NRL, hundreds of people still lining up for tickets when the game had kicked off. Buying tickets should be a very quick process. I have no idea why it took so long per person but by the time we got in, got a beer, and got a seat, we had missed nearly 10 minutes. We waited 20 minutes in the line and the lines weren't even long. And the ticket sales demountable is just nasty looking and there is no cover from the elements. The big screen desperately needs an upgrade. We purchased the cheapest tickets and walked straight into the expensive section as numbers were low and nobody was even checking but why slug people for expensive tickets when they are sitting with people who paid half the amount? Some of the speakers were clearly blown and distorting making an awful racket. The alcohol was shut down with still 15 minutes to go in the game (but this may be the norm?). The newer section was really good though. It appears that some areas are great and others are very dated.
