lots of good info on whales, some neat displays to show you size of whales including bones, and the "menus" that show what they eat. Blue lobster in tank. Great for a small stop (maybe 30-45min) and they have picnic tables outside for your packed lunch with the kids by the water.

I thoroughly loved my experience here. For a very small fee it provided a great deal of learning and understanding, plus the staff (I'm sorry I forget your name but I think it started with an 'A'), appeared very passionate and knowledgeable. Although not the fansiest centre I've been in; it is full of charm and thought provoking material. The... More

Very informative place. Can spend about an hour or so with several sections providing historical and anatomical information for various types of whales

A small but very well staffed and organized museum. There was some information about the various whales and also lots of souvenirs for purchase. Everyone was kind and helpful. The bathrooms are open to the public and they were clean.

This 45-minute overview hits only the highlights of whaling history, conservation, and biology. A useful precursor to a whale-watching cruise if it's your first time.

We found this place while on a road trip in the area. It is only open seasonally. It is small, but has lots of interesting info on whales. We were just passing through, but if you were staying to take a boat to see whales, this would be a great addition. The displays are rather old, but the whales haven't... More

The centre is small and you can be done with it in around 30 minutes. It is very informative and close to the harbour.

We had some time to spare before our whale watching trip with Captain Mark's Whale & Seal Cruise, so we stopped in for a visit. It was well worth it. You can go through the place in about a half hour. Be sure to watch the nine minute video about the history whale hunting and efforts to end it. There's... More

Everything you wanted to know about whales and didn't know to ask. I learned a tremendous amount prior to our whale watch about these majestic and highly intelligent creatures

If your taking a whale watching tour out of Pleasant Bay and want to add some basic information to your understanding of whales, this might be a good place to stop by. You can easily get through the exhibit in 15 minutes or so, including the video.
