Pura Beji located at Sangsit Village, Buleleng,it is a Subak temple.Subak is a term for the Balinese paddy irrigation system.it is dedicated to the spirit that looks after the irrigation and rice fields.i visited this temple three weeks ago when i had my North Bali trip in September this year. it was the second time i visited this temple, the first time was ten years ago.i love its craving, especially a craving of two Dutchmen playing instruments, one playing guitar, another playing rebab.it is said that they were Dutch colonial officer, and helped to renovate this temple.if you love craving of Balinese temple, then it is worth a visit.

quite a long journey, visited Beji Temple which is in north Bali with a magnificent temple building with a large parking area. This temple was built during the Balinese kingdom, ticket prices are also not expensive. So we and our friends are very happy to be able to come here...

Such a beautiful Temple, we were the only ones here. No hassle, no monkeys and beautiful carvings. We'd last visited Bali almost 30 years ago, staying in the South, so this time opted for the North and chose days out to avoid crowds. I highly recommend visiting, though maybe not too loudly as it may not stay as quiet!

If you are an art and architecture lovers, I think you must spend at least an hour to enjoy those well-preserved stone carvings one by one inside this so-called oldest temple in Bali. During my visit in Indonesia, although many of the temples have beautiful carvings therein; this sandstone temple in Sangsit seems to be very rare that statues are all related to Javanese legend, including snakes, devils and demons. It is dedicated to Dewi Sri, the goddess of rice.

We only went to this temple because it was not too far from the place we stayed in Air Sanih. But we were so pleasantly surprised at seeing one of the most ornate temples in Buleleng. The walls of the temple are full of beautiful, intricate carving, some of the fine details are still very well preserved.
Tranquil and manageable on your own, this is a temple you can spend time appreciating without being harried and pressured by guides offering their services. We came in the afternoon, and we had the temple all for ourselves. After paying the entrance fee--10,000 rupiahs--we were left completely alone.

Intricate carvings and beautiful lay out. The original coloring remains in parts of the complex. Beautiful, quiet and a must visit.

It's located in Sangsit. This temple is very unique and beautiful. Worth visiting after watching dolphins in Lovina.
