The tour to watch whales was well beyond our expectations. My hope was to see them from the boat a few meters away, but we got very lucky and got one if them right below our boat, going from side to side and sticking the head out of the water to breathe and be pet by the whole family, like... Prices are high and you do not need them for most of the things especially if you have your own car. Their prices are high. Take their map and get all the info you need

I expected to be thrilled to see whales at a distance. I never imagined I'd pet them! Like a 30-ton friendly dog, the mama and half-ton baby whales swam right up to our boat, extended their rubbery snouts and allowed us to scratch and - yes, pet them! Not just once and not just one day, but on repeated trips!... More

We have seen the grey whales before when we did a live aboard boat from San Diego to the Sea of Cortez and it moored in the lagoon. They use the Kuyima boats and we always found the drivers excellent, so this is why we chose Kuyima above the other camps. They are the first, the original, and they have... More

My husband and I spent 4 days at Kuyima camping along the water. We loved it so much, we were actually only suppose to stay for 3 and lost track of the time and accidentally stayed one extra day. The captains and staff are so wonderful. The highlight was the 4 friendly whales around our boat on the last day!... More

Quaint office on the San Ignacio Plaza, wonderful accommodations out at the lagoon. We waited an hour until the wind calmed before they would let us go out - and are we glad! It was perfect on the water. Whales everywhere. A great intro. before we left, but the pilot of the boat, a local fisherman, didn't say anything while... More

We spent three nights at Kuyima, camping in tents. The tents were really nice Cabela's tents, and came with cots, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, sheets and pillows. Our package included all meals and one whale watching excursion per day. We were able to see and touch many whales; the highlight was a mother whale and her baby together. The staff... More

I have been camping at Kuyima right on S. IGNACIO lagoon. They have a equipped camping ground with clean toilets, showers and nice flat places to put your own tent. They also rent furnished tents but very expensive. There is a palapa restaurant which serves giod brdakfast and main meals. They are very environment-conscious and use just biodegradable materials and... More

My husband and I visited the Kuyima Whale Camp for three days and nights of wonderful experiences. The camp was a very efficiently-run experience in low-impact eco-tourism. The staff are superb and make your stay a great experience! Many kudos to Carlos, Maggie, Lilly, and Paola for taking care of everyone and making it such a fun visit. The grey... More

Visiting whales with Ecoturismo Kuyima was a magical experience. It was like going away to camp as a kid. We met a fantastic group of people we shared meals and adventures with for several days. Our group camaraderie was enhanced and facilitated by a wonderful staff lead by Carlos. Each day we went out in our little panga boat to... More
