I'm surprised that I could not find a listing on tripadvisor for this place.
This weaver's cooperative is in the village of Oodi, about 40 minutes outside of Gabs. It was established a few decades ago, now fully owned by the women workers themselves. The site itself consists of a workshop and a store, so it would take less than an hour to visit. The best part is to come during the weekday when the women are at work. They showed me the process, from making the wool to hand weaving the pieces. The bedspreads take one weaver an entire month to hand make! The pieces depict mostly village life, and individuals can even custom order!
The pieces are priced as art. I bought a 1ft x 2ft tapestry for 65USD. Larger pieces (wall art, bedspreads) were up to 250USD.
Unfortunately, the weavers told me that business was slow and there was not enough work for everyone in the cooperative. Everyone should visit here if they are in Gabs!
As of Oct 2014, the cooperative was open until 4:30 M-F, closed weekends.

A must to visit while in Gaborone. We bought beautiful Tapestries from them. They take commissions and it is a joy to see these talented women working. From spinning the wool and dying the wool to creating amazing screens.

The whole coop is a lovely junket from town. The weavings are well produced and not at all expensive. The drive from town is less than an hour.
