The valley of Dong Du and surroundings are just stunning, beautiful and so authentic since there are mostly no tourists around, so you really just become a part of everyday lifer here with locals in the Far West of Nghe An. The family is super nice and welcoming, the food is excellent and the atmosphere is quiet and zen. We would recommend this place for people who want more local experiences and and want something different than the usual tourist destinations! Hoa will take you around or you can discover the area by yourself on scooter. It has everything to offer you such as. Beaches, jungle, churches, valley and villages. Highly recommended

My partner and I did the 6 day hike in the Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Definitely a Vietnam hidden gem! We stayed with a number of ethnic minority groups, saw amazing mountain and rice field views as well as swimming in beautiful waterfalls.
This is the best way to understand ethnic Vietnam life! Get away from the hustle of the city and do something else besides the tourist hotspots.
The website is out dated - which did make me have scam concerns but I can assure you that they are legit :)

Had a lovely trip to Bắc sơn with our guide and driver from Hà Nội to explore Bac Son valley while spending night at local homestay Tày ethnic group. It was our best dinner ever during our trip in Vietnam and we loved the people, the food and the interaction with locals. Thanks Loc and Lâm for a great adventure

I am Richard, from Toulouse, France.
We went to Vietnam on month ago. we were 16.
I put here a comment on Ethnic Voyage, because they really deserve it !
After having checked on internet and asked for prices to a few travel agencies, we decided to choose Ethnic Voyage. They seemed to undertand the best our precise whishes, we were able to get fair prices, and they put in front of us Loic, who was answering any question at a minute, 24h/24, despite the time difference.
And above all, every thing in a perfect french.
As soon as we decided to go with them, we had been amazed by the execellent level of their service.
They managed to understand and answer all our needs, even when we decided to update our plans at the last moment during the trip.
It was the first time we have been travelling with the help of a travel agency, and it was a truly very good experience thank's to them all.
Thank you Ethnic Voyage, thank you Loic, and thank you Chan, the nice guide that led us during our 5 day trek in pu Luong park.

We spent only one day in Lan Ha bay and it was really amazing. I was there in summer, so swimming or sunbathing were really funny and enjoyable. We just did a one day kayak tour with Sails of Indochina. If we could redo our trip, we would definitely try to stay with one of the floating hostels out in the bay and one night on the sailing junk. It was so amazing to experience a sunset and sunrise there. The place is highly recommended! And our tour was organised by a locally-run company Sails of Indochina Cruises and the owner, Mr. Diem, was so helpful. Recommended!

Everything was organised by email from Australia, and the whole tour went very smoothly. This is a great tour operator that offers private tours for a great price. The tour guide was very good and very knowledgeable. The private driver was good helpful too. Highly recommended

It was a unique experience for us to interact with local ethnic hilltribe, the overnight stay in their traditional house on stilt house with familt was unforgettale for us to understand better the way of wife anf the culture. We highly recommend Ethnic Voyage to venture off beaten tracks like no other

We went 2 weeks in Vietnam where I was born. After visiting family in Saigon, we spent 4 days in Pu Luong area among "white Thaïs" ethnic. This was a real good experience, sleeping in inhabitants house. Food was good, trekking in the rice green fields and hills were amazing. We had a french guide who knew a lot of things about flowers, customs and landscapes. After a short visit in TAm Coc, we spent 4 days in LAn Ha bay (less tourist than Ha Long Bay) and we slept in a rural guesthouse with very nice people. The miracle of "Ethnic voyages" is that we had spent a trip which seemed not be organized (a feeling of liberty) with the advantages of good logistic (bus, guesthouse booked, nice people on the phone...). They were very professionnal, quiet but present. We are very happy of them and recommended this agency for people who want to do a unusual trip "hors des sentiers battus", to meet vietnamese people.

This is one of the most beautiful trek in Sapa, we started trekking from Y Linh Ho to Lao Chai and Tavan , the rice field terraces were truly amazing and stunning

We booked a private tour to Bacson valley to discover the Tay village and Nalay peak, the panorama view from the summit was really beautiful. We loved to spend time on Nalay summit to see the time stands still

How far to go from Lang Son city to Bac Son valley ? Could you please arrange a homestay for us ?

Bac Son valley is about 697,9 km² and about 50 km from Lang Son and 158km from Hanoi. Have a good adventure!
