Abrazos Boutique specializes in San Miguel style clothing and home wares made from fine cotton textiles, celebrating the most iconic images of Mexican culture known around the world. We're open 7 days a week, 10-6pm, with a friendly, bilingual, knowledgeable staff. We are an institution in San Miguel de Allende and known for our service, our store in a historic shopping district, our quality designs and our fair trade business practices which support San Miguel families who make all of our original creations. I was so pleased with the large selection of beautiful, bright patterned fabrics & quality of handmade protective face masks that Abrazos San Miguel has to offer. I finally chose 3 & they are exceptional! I ordered online & couldn’t be happier with the level of customer service & speedy delivery to the USA. I will most likely return for more as it seems we are in this for the long haul !

My apologies for the delay in responding to your enthusiastic and appreciative review of the Abrazos experience. Somehow it did not get seen until today but it arrived on the perfect day to read it.
This Covid has been a LONG, tough journey but customers like you make it smoother for those of us in small business doing our best to contribute to public health.
And beyond, offering original, high quality, handmade fabrics and other treasures celebrating Mexican traditions.

We passed a window display of Frida Kahlo fabric one day while walking through town. A family member suggested we check out Abrazos Boutique, as they had the best selection of items made from this unique cloth. So glad we found this shop. It is full of awesome items made from gorgeous, locally designed and printed fabrics. It was a tough decision with all of the awesome fabrics. Day of the Dead designs, traditional Mexican designs, etc...I am now the proud owner of an awesome teal apron with Frida Kahlo characters all over it. Really loved the items in this shop...

That pattern is the most popular textile items being sold at the Philadelphia Museum of Art for their historic exhibition this year on Mexican painters. Viva Mexico!

Abrazos Boutique is so colorful that it looks as though a rainbow came through and plastered itself over the entire store. If you love Frida Kahlo and various super-colorful Mexican motifs in clothing form or in hundreds of other products, you will be in heaven in this store.

I had the good fortune to meet the owner of Abrazos Boutique while she was selling her beautiful designs made of lively and colorful fabrics at the DreamWeavers exhibit and sale in Puerto Escondido. What you may not know about the owner is her huge commitment to Mexico and Mexicans. She has a special non exploitive relationship with the big number of Mexicans working for her. She's also involved with a co-op of women weavers who are gaining notoriety around the world for their high quality weavings. I encourage you to buy the beautiful products she offers not only for their beauty and usefulness but also for the spirit behind this business! Try out the eye masks with Frida on it....makes me feel beautiful as I sleep :)

I have stopped in this shop several times, but have not purchased anything during those visits. I had bought several of their fabrics online, many years ago. This led me to seek them out once I had a home in SMA.
The prints are great fun and the sewing seems to be well done, but every time I have stopped in, the person working is very inattentive. The shop is small and some things are not priced, which is why someone more attentive would be useful. Plus the prices are more than I would expect to pay, at the source.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review, it is greatly appreciated. First, let me apologize for your comment that the employee was not very attentive. I will discuss this with our store manager, as we seek to give everyone our full attention in the store.
Regarding the prices, all of the merchandise prices are painted on the wall because we find that customers often buy our creations as gifts and don't want price stickers on their goods. Our prices are much lower than if you bought these items at our wholesale accounts in San Miguel and around Mexico and the US, actually 30% lower.
if our prices are "spendy" (great word, by the way!), it is because we pay our seamstresses and employees a fair wage for their outstanding sewing and professionalism, and give employee benefits to them. Also, all our fabrics are imported of 100% fine cotton, a high quality fabric, so you are paying for the best quality in sewing and in the material. That means that our goods will last through many washings and will never fade or shrink, so they last a lifetime!

Abrazos is my favorite shop in all of San Miguel. Here you will find aprons (my favorite), table linens, hot pads and oven mitts, shirts, dresses, socks and even doggie bandannas in the most vibrant and colorful fabrics you can possibly imagine. By now my friends all know that San Miguel is my happy place and we're beginning to spend more time there every year. Whenever we leave, all our friends ask us to bring them back something from Abrazos. And you can buy fabric by the yard as well. Don't miss this wonderful shop. I guarantee you've never seen anything like it!

I always brings gifts to family and friends from Abrazos each time I return to the states for a visit. Once I gave my mother 12 different napkins. Very festive and colorful. I highly recommend shopping in this store when you are in SMA.

Don't overlook the visual experience of Abrazos! You'll see their products everywhere but nothing is so much fun as a visit to this shop full of fabulous fabrics, creative designs and gifts. I love the functionality of each product and the Mexican themes of the fabrics. Locally made with much pride and easily packed into your checked baggage. Promised to make you (and your friends) smile long after you get home.

I love this store because of its colorful dresses and aprons inspired by Mexican designs & designers. I bought an apron and an oven mitt and after several washings, the color and fabric are still vibrant without pilling. A good sign of quality fabric! Every season there's new designs and the price for such a unique piece of clothing is reasonable. They are on the top of my list of San Miguel fashion designers!

I had shopped several other stores, looking for shirts that would embody the spirit of San Miguel. Others were cheaper, but nobody had the lively prints and colors that I found in Abrazos. I had earlier bought bibs for my new great-granddaughter, so that the would have a bit of Mexico in her Washington state home, and they were a big hit.
