I had my massage with Juan Carlos, the owner of Jasmine Spa. I must say, I am very picky when it comes to getting a massage. And my back was aching because of all the walking I did in San Miguel. Prior to this massage, I had two other massages in San Miguel, and they were terrible. Juan Carlos, on the other hand, was amazing. He has very strong hands, is very professional, and gave me an excellent deep tissue massage. He is bilingual too, so there were no communication difficulties. The music he played was relaxing and soothing. Actually, the whole atmosphere is soothing and nicely decorated with beautiful art work throughout the spa. The bathroom was very clean and was decorated with a colorful mirrors, beautiful Mexican tiles and an antique sink. I am leaving San Miguel tomorrow, but if I wasn't going home, I would definitely go back to this spa again. It's a hidden gem!

Contrary to previous review, Jasmine Day Spa is not closed. They moved earlier this year to a new location: Loreto No. 10 in Centro. We got a good massage at a great price. Would go there again.

Carlos and his team are very good at what they do, and I would not hesitate for a second to recommend them. The three of us had a variety of massages and treatments over the course of our stay. Carlos even came to the house one day to do our massages.
The spa itself is pretty no frills, so if you are looking for all the bells and whistles of a resort style spa, this may not be your place, but the staff here knows what they are doing and when you ask for a deep tissue massage, you get a deep tissue massage, which is not always the case. It is also an excellent value. Good enough to go back several times and not break the bank.
Thanks again Carlos for the great treatments and service!

I booked online and was charged 400 more pesos than the price listed on their website. The owner wasn't there and the communication with the massage technician was difficult. Yes, I shouldn't have paíd It. I contacted the owner on WhatsApp afterwards, and they didn't respond. Maybe I would feel better if I felt it was worth it, but honestly it was the worst massage i've ever received. Whole parts of my body were ignored and the touch felt annoying. Plus the space was cold and bare bones. Not a spa at all. No sign. A woman met me in the doorway and took me through a dark shop and upstairs into a room. It was not inviting, and felt uncomfortable. If you are going to charge 1000 pesos for a massage, then you need to give a good massage, have a nice welcoming relaxing space, with at least some music and nice scent, and be transparent in your pricing! I felt ripped off and totally regret not walking out!! Wish I had looked at the other reviews too!

If you're feet are tired from all the walking and pretty dusty as well and not looking their best, then stop in Jasmine Spa at 25A Jesus in the Centro.
Martina gave me a very nice pedicure and manicure for a price more economical than most places in SMA and it was a very pleasant experience. I will be returning.
Next I'm trying Carlos' famous massages.
If you have to have a chi chi atmosphere, this isn't the place. But if you want good service, a fair price, and a very peaceful quiet serene place to just relax and be treated to a soothing experience then buy all means try Jasmine Spa.

I've been going to Carlos for massages for 4 years, and he never disappoints. Strong but gentle hands and excellent knowledge of the body. He is very accommodating to your schedule. Don't miss this in San Miguel de Allende.

We used this terrific spa five times over a month for massages and all but one was sensational - Juan the owner was especially good and he's a great guy. One was too light, but I chalk that up to the language issue.
Also had an excellent manicure/pedicure in a big airy room with a beautiful view of the Parroquia. Clean, professional unrushed experience - what I wouldn't give to have that every month at home instead of the nail mill I go to. Polish selection is limited so you might consider bringing your own.
Love this spa and can't wait to return. Clean and beautiful - an oasis in an already marvelous city.

My brother-in-law went here three times during his week in San Miguel. He always felt refreshed and renewed when he came out. He is now searching for someone just as good in his home town in California. He said that Carlos was so good, his fingers were like magic. Like the other reviewer said, you do have to walk up steps - but it is worth it!

Guys: be careful before you book this place. We read about it in a guidebook and it sounded great - "colourful rooms" etc. The address has changed and now it's located in the back of a store in a weird, dark mezzanine. Massage was fine, but the shower didn't even work - could hardly rinse myself off after the salt scrub...not to mention down rickety dark stairs in a towel and freezing cold. When I went to pay, the price was more than on the website, which I pulled up to confirm. Carlos said his ex-wife controls the website and he can't change it. On top of all this, the full service we received was advertised as 3.5 hours...and it was barely 2.5. OMG - I was really disappointed in the whole experience. Sadly, this was my Christmas gift for my mom...and all we got out of it was a funny story - hilarious in its disappointment.

I contacted the spa late yesterday afternoon with barking feet, a bad back and a host of miscellaneous aches and pains. Friends, the streets of San Miguel de Allende are not kind (though they are beautiful). The cobblestone hills of this fabulous city were just too much for me. Carlos quickly texted back with an early morning appointment today. Oh what a welcome relief! Very, very thorough and a nice atmosphere as well. Note that they recently moved and the address is Calle Loreto #9. I left lotioned to a silk and I can actually sit down without wincing. Thank you Jasmine Day Spa!
