We did a market tour + cooking class with Gaby and it was amazing!! Gaby is so knowledgeable of the Mexican culture and cuisine and is such a sweet / cool / interesting person!! We learned so much about authentic Mexican ingredients like cactus during the market tour and then had an amazing time cooking a three course meal with Gaby in her professional grade kitchen. We felt extremely safe from a COVID standpoint and are so glad we chose to do this experience! The highlight of our trip! Definitely book with Gaby you will not regret it :)!!

We met Gaby right where she told us she would be. Our trip to the market was a fun adventure with tastes, shopping and planning. Whatever you want she will make it happen. We went back to her kitchen which was all set up for us and we got to work with chopping, tasting, stirring, mixing, gossip and laughs. Something for everyone. Sat down to an amazing Mexican meal - beer and inside scoop about the goings on in San Miguel. Fun fun day.

Chef Gaby did a great job from the start - the tour of the local market included tasting various unusual fruits; a tip on buying a local taco with very unusual toppings (for me); and discussions with several vendors. Then off to her (now closed) restaurant for the class. There were 6 of us - including a local mexican friend of Gaby's - and we all worked together in the professional kitchen to relatively quickly prepare what seemed like a dozen dishes/salsas. Wine and beer were included, and Gaby has a staff person to do cleaning and serving so it was also a great sit down meal. The recipes provided at the end were excellent as promised.

The cooking class with Chef Gaby Green was one of the highlights of my month in San Miguel. It was fascinating to visit to the colorful and bustling Mercado Ignacio Ramirez with Gaby and to learn more about the fresh ingredients we used to prepare our meal. With Gaby leading the way, I felt like a local Instead of like a tourist. When we returned to her restaurant kitchen, Gaby expertly organized our group so that we were able to simultaneously prepare a veritable feast. Sitting down to enjoy our meal with Gaby gave us an opportunity to get to know this wonderful, warm, and talented chef. I highly recommend Gaby Green’s cooking classes - and be sure to include the market tour!
