I'm writing this in hopes that the management will read it and consider that you are destroying a good business with a total lack of care for the client experience...
How many people have to say it's impossible to find anything to invest in good signage? It's all over your reviews!!!
I get it now. You spend half your time walking 20 minutes here and there, searching for everything to the point of exhaustion. There is NO ONE on the grounds to offer help.
Then, there are NO signs on lockers on where to get a lock. You have to ask everyone and get lost and frustrated for their lack of professionalism. Then they may or may not have locks... Get a clue and get the kind that are COMPLIMENTARY. come into the 21st century!b
Horrible signage to find the spa, Hasn't that been said many times here already? We spent 30 minutes to find it, then were told we had to pay for the service beforehand, in the office, on the other side of the property. Imagine? This is how they welcome you to the spa. Go walk 15 minutes more to pay first. This is not mentioned when you book.
The place is really beautiful, but I probably won't return for all of the hassles.

My husband and I just went here and I don't understand the bad reviews. First of all, it costs $9 to get in. This is not a luxury spa or anything approaching that. It's a simple place where you can enjoy several pools with water from the hot springs. The changing rooms are just stalls and you put your clothes in a locker (bring your own lock and towel). You then go to two enclosed hot pools under a glass dome and the water is very warm and wonderful. There are some other pools that aren't quite as hot that kids were enjoying with their parents. We arrived around 10 and it wasn't crowded and plenty of chaises were available. Later on, it was busier with very nice Mexican families with well-behaved kids. We were the only Americans there on the day we went. Whenever I turned around, there were people sweeping up and cleaning up so I really don't know what these people are referring to. There's also a restaurant where we enjoyed a nice breakfast. There's a separate entrance to a hotel where they offer massages and treatments but we didn't do this.

While the grounds and changing areas are clean and nicely kept, the hot springs fell below expectations. It is in a two-section glass enclosed pool divided by a wall that's designed to look like a cave. Both pools are pretty small. One section had couples making out in the water, the other was pretty crowded with families and children. Not a great experience for a mature couple, and not half as nice as hot springs in Costa Rica and Iceland.

We took a day trip to Escondido Place from Guanajuato. It took us about an hour to get there. We paid $190 pesos to get in and $800 pesos for a 55-minute massage. We immediately started looking for the hot springs, but not one could tell us where to go. We noticed that the facilities were a little run down. We finally found the springs and got in. The water was lukewarm and packed with little kids and adults. The steps were full of grass and dirt. We got in for two minutes and decided that it was not for us. We tried looking for other pools but all of them were cold water pools. We decided to leave. They were gracious enough to give us a refund for the massage and the entrance fee.

This place needs maintenance, staff, more directories and more cleaning.
All the pools were dirty. The thermal waters are small and crowded with people. We saw toilet paper floating! This place needs to put a max limit!
The uncovered pools were also small and with debris. They are crowded too and kids were sneezing in the pool without covering their mouths!!
The maps were damaged.
This place lacks in cleanliness and maintenance. The bathrooms were stinky and one of the dress rooms had a dirty menstrual pad paste on the wall!! So disgusting 🤮.
I’m not coming back to this place! I recommend to go somewhere else. Don’t spend your cash and time here.

Such a pleasant surprise to find this lovely little hotel with a nice restaurant (actually two restaurants), very comfortable room with king bed, lots of hot water and a most accommodating staff. The hotel is separate from the rest of the park so it's always more private and quieter. The cascade thermal spring pool was terrific! It's clean and perfect temperature and very serene in the morning before the day guests arrive. The park itself is huge with lots of walking paths and many pools of various temperatures. The spa looks very inviting for a future visit. We were the only foreigners in the park during our two day stay and appreciated the friendly Mexicans who made us feel welcome.

It is OUR experience and others, including those with children might think differently.
We went for the thermal springs. Thought there might be outside places. There aren’t.
There only 2 chambers open. Neither had seats. Children in there swimming and splashing in the hit water. There are pools etc. for them to swim in. But if you wanted to sit and relax, just not possible.
Will not return.

We took a cab to this place . There were no ppl but it was a cool Tuesday morning. The underground thermal pools were nice but we felt La Gruta, the other thermal hot springs resort nearby was much nicer. Would recommend that one instead of Escondido.

Just returned from a week in the Mexican heartland -- San Miguel de Allende area. One of the highlights was a day trip to the Escondido Spa (on the road to Dolores Hidalgo). This grassy, tree-shaded park is a favorite of Mexican families who bring a picnic or food to grill and spend the day in and out of the pools. My teenage nephews and I enjoyed the many pools, which are linked by paved pathes; the pools range from oblong, shallow ones for the kiddies to large round ones; all are concrete lined and fed by natural hot springs. We especially liked the three indoor pools that progressed from from warm to hot to hotter; the boys enjoyed standing under the stream of water that fed the pools -- nice massage action from the force of the water. Very relaxing, friendly place.
Go early on a Saturday or Sunday; it gets crowded in the afternoon. Escondido is open 8:00am - 5:00pm. You can take a bus (cheap!) from SMA and walk up the gravel road to the spa, or take a taxi door to door ($120 pesos or ~$12 USD). Cost: $80 pesos per person (~$8 USD). Bathrooms, changing rooms and snack bars on site. Enjoy!

What a wonderful place to relax and unwind -- especially after walking up and down the hill to Los Balcones and El Charco del Ingenio Botanical Garden! Do not let the looks of the place as you arrive discourage you. Like the buildings and courtyards of San Miguel de Allende, there is plenty of beauty behind what one initially sees.
Escondido Place has two warm, outdoor pools and three connected indoor pools. The indoor pools with their beautiful brick boveda ceilings get progressively hotter. One moves from pool to pool with its sulfur-free water. In the final indoor pool, there are three pipes that have rushing water replenishing the pool. I stood under it, and all of my tension in my neck and shoulders disappeared.
The outdoor pools range from oblong, shallow ones for the kiddies to large round ones. All of the pools are concrete lined. There are nicely manicures grounds, and lots of space for picnicking. Many Mexican families make a whole day out of it. Weekends are very busy. We made the ten minute trip from San Miguel to the hot springs on a Friday morning, and had all of the pools to ourselves for almost an hour. Take a cab for 1,000 Pesos (each way); pay the 800 Peso entrance fee, and have a relaxing, spa-like experience.
