This gallery showcases the artistry of Manuel Morales with many of his ceramics pieces. There is a bio of him, as well as other artists, and he was born into a family of pottery. There are plenty of other artists who are on display as well, with la Catrina and other sculptures.

First thing you see are lots and lots of ceramics, both huge and small. Then you see the masks, again large and small. And there is lots more to see. Great place to visit even if you are nort interested in buying. Staff patient and informative

This is a wonderful collection of the best pottery, clay, and other crafts from Michoacan. The owner is an artist himself, and represents other artists. Unlike other galleries, where the owners bargain down the artisans to poverty levels, here the owner is concerned with paying a fair price to the artisans to help them sustain their traditions.

This store offers and very interesting array of folk art and contemporary ceramic art by selected artists. There are pineapple ceramics, arbols de la vida (trees of live), Huichol bead art and a number of other excellent examples. The adjacent La Union can ship safely to the U.S., although do not expect any shipping bargains. My wife and I found this more interesting than the upscale La Aurora up the street. Friendly, bi-lingual staff. Fixed prices.

We have visited this wonderful art gallery every time we are in San Miguel. We have purchased several art pieces and really enjoy the variety of artisans they have on display. Check it out on your away to the Aurora Galleries.

This shop carries only folk art from the Mexican State of Michoacan. Many pieces on display are from award-winning artists. You will find giant urns, beautifully crafted copper, ceramics, glass, woven fabrics and masks. This shop consistently shows pieces of highest quality. The manager and staff are knowledgable and helpful. The manager speaks very good English. Short of making a tour of Michoacan, a visit to this shop will introduce you to some of their finest wares.

This modest shop is like a museum gallery, with every piece being wonderful. The owner grew up in Michoacan, and represents twenty some families there who make high quality work. It is easy to visit during a walk from Centro to the remarkable Fabrica Aurora.

This gallery should be on any art lover's not to miss list. It's simply an excellent display, like a few other places in SMA you will feel like you are in a small museum.

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the owner and learning some of the background behind the beautiful work from Michoacan. We bought a few pieces we will long enjoy.

We walked into this gallery by chance and were immediately entranced with both the art AND the architecture as well. Everywhere you look, inside, outside, in the courtyard, there are beautiful things to look at. Sculpture everywhere, some for sale, some just for ambience (although I suspect that everything has a price, right?). As other's have said, this gallery/shop has been curated with a discerning eye and there really are a huge variety of interesting pieces. Our guests who were visiting us in SMA saw us eyeing an unusual piece and when we arrived back home in the states, it was waiting for us, all packaged up and ready to be opened (photos below). What a great surprise and an amazing piece to add to our vacation-art collection.
