About
I studied gastronomy and hospitality so in addition to cooking I love meeting and living with new people. I have worked in restaurants and hotels in various parts of Mexico. Since I finished my career I have taught cooking classes - here I discovered that teaching is something I enjoy a lot - to my friends, family and acquaintances. My taste in cooking began since I was a child, always helping my mother and aunts to cook.

We loved shopping at the vibrant Ignacio Ramirez market for our ingredients. We had a great time preparing our dishes and enjoyed eating the results of our labors! Chef Lugo did a great job with us!

The cooking class was held in a beautiful house and kitchen.
Our teacher was very knowledgeable about the area the recipes came from and the recipes were a great choice. I was impressed that she could change the recipes to go along with my plant based diet with no oil. We would highly recommend to all.

Ana was just lovely and cooks in a very relaxed and confident manner. I thoroughly enjoyed cooking with Ana and it was especially nice as it was just the two of us which allowed for a lot of back and forth conversation, which is the best part of cooking.
We cooked Asado de Boda as well as a quick salsa in a mortar and both were fabulous. She understands the ingredients and history of what she is making and it was an absolute delight sharing a few hours. Loved this part of our trip and well worth it. 10 minute taxi ride from centro in a lovely home with dogs and cats, which I loved.
It's a fun time......do it!

We had a completely delightful and delicious time cooking with Bereniece. She was warm, welcoming, well-organized and full of interesting information about the cuisine of Northern Mexico. It was a lovely, hands-on, convivial experience that we would definitely recommend to anyone visiting San Miguel. I can't wait to try the recipes at home!

A marvelous cooking lesson. The teacher was so well organized and I learned the methods, history and techniques of the recipe. There are a lot of teachers who charge twice as much.

Ana was a delight to hear. She told me about the area she was from - and we cooked ( or I learned) a traditional wedding meal. Beware - it is not walkable from Centro area of San Miguel.

What a unique and fun experience in San Miguel. This was a very private experience in the friendly home of a talented chef. My wife and I had a great time making the dishes , sharing some wine and learning alot about the history and cuisine of the area.

We truly enjoyed our experience cooking at Anna’s family home. I feel like I have a better understanding of Mexican cuisine. We walked from town to her home. Enjoy!!

Chef Berenice was delightful. She explained our recipe from a historical perspective and how the ingredients are used in Northern Mexican cooking. . She described the region and how the ingredients were brought and incorporated into the region by other cultures. The class was 100% hands on and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. Our kitchen was well equipped and beautiful. I highly recommend this cooking class for anyone whether you are an experienced cook or just beginning.
