About
Hola y muy bienvenidos! As in all cultures, those born and raised in the society are the best source of knowledge about traditions. As a Mexican native, I inherited my Mexican cuisine knowledge from my previous generations. And my passion too! From my earliest years, I watched my mother, my aunts and grandparents in the kitchen, so I invite you to join me, to use the very fresh ingredients of our Mexican Cuisine, and recreate together those delicious dishes. I love sharing my knowledge about one of the most varied and delicious cuisines in the world. I take pride in customizing my classes to suit the needs of all students -that don't have to stick to a fix classes program calendar. Contact us to arrange your own hands-on class. Classes are from Monday thru Friday, starting at 10:30 am. A minimum number of students apply for each class. We offer special intensive courses of 3 days, 1 week or 2 weeks.

We took a cooking class from Marilau today and it was worth the cost of the class for the tips, tricks, cooking insights, and historical references to the food we were preparing. Marilau is a pleasure to spend time with and really knows her stuff. She references and explains the whole process; why we’re doing what we’re doing in the kitchen. We very much enjoyed this cooking class and we’ve taken them all over the world.

Our family of 9 adults took Marilau's cooking class. It was an unforgettable experience. Marilau is so knowledgeable about the food traditions of Mexico and shared so much with us. She answered all our questions. The dishes we prepared were delicious! I would love to take another class with her!!!

We are former restaurateurs and educators. It is one thing to be good at what you do, but it is another skill set to be able to teach that subject to others. Marilau knows her craft and she knows how to teach it. We took a class from Marilau with two others who are also educators with decades of restaurant experience. Her teaching style is fun and informative for aspiring cooks of all levels. Take a class from Marilau and you will come away with a feeling of accomplishment. You will take away knowledge that you can apply in you own kitchen. Thanks, Marilau!

It’s been tough during the pandemic. But glad to see things are slowly getting back to normal in San Miguel. Marilau’s cooking class was such a delight. The food was amazing, but the experience was superb. She made us feel welcomed to her kitchen like we’ve known each other for ever. We learned traditional Mexican recipes with authentic and delicious flavors. Definitely recommend her classes, especially if you are in a big group of family and/or friends.

Marilau is an amazing teacher and the food was delicious. We were 3 friends, all experienced cooks, but we learned a lot about authentic Mexican cooking and traditions. We were able to participate in each step and taste everything as we cooked. Marilau made the experience fun and is a wealth of knowledge!

There were only three people in our class of tamale making. Marilau is a wonderful teacher who is extremely knowledgeable of traditional Mexican cooking. She knows the history of the Mexican cooking from all parts of Mexico and shares this knowledge as she explains the methods of preparing the food. It is a very hands on class with prepared recipes to keep and practice at home.

We learned so much in our class with Marilau yesterday. Not only did we receive recipes and instruction for cooking three different dishes, Marilau talked to us about Mexican culinary history, how to use (and not use) chiles, general rules for Mexican cooking and more. She is clear and thorough in her instructions and a pleasure to be with. All three dishes were delicious, and we will definitely prepare them at home. Looking forward to taking another class!

Marie is amazing. Well-paced, full of detail, deeply knowledgeable ... this is a class you **need** to take. The recipes are authentic, the teaching is outstanding, and the entire experience is not to be missed. I think you can tell how happy and pleased we were with this experience. Book early ... these classes are not to be missed!

The meal really had no flavor, nothing special. Too warm in her kitchen, no bottled water, no aprons. Not inspiring or friendly.

Not worth the money. Overpriced. She brought in a know it all third person in what was to be a couples class.

There has got to be a better option in town.
