Eight of us booked a tour with Coyote Canyon Adventures to the pyramid at Canada de la Virgen. None of us had any previous knowledge about this site. We were fortunate to have as a guide, Alberto Aveleyra. He was passionate and informed. We all learnt so much about this wonderful place. It was a great trip. I would caution... More

Albert "Alberto" Coffee's passion for the discovery of Canada de la Virgen is inspirational. We loved the exclusive feel of the tour. A must see if your are in the area.

Pyramids in Mexico? We hadn't expected it. This was one of the best things we did in SM. Albert Coffee, our guide, was one of the archeologists to dig at this site, which has only been open to the public for five years. He was extremely knowledgable. Gave us an excellent understanding of early Mexican culure and helped us understand... More

This is not the most impressive Mexican pyramid you'll see, but it has a great storyline. A bit of a walk, but an interesting one.

One of the few Chichimeca Culture sites. The Museum that has been built whre you park your car is a must see. Not only beautiful but shows you very clearly the astrological purpose of the construction of the sites. Prehispanic cultures in Mexico were certainly excellent astronomers and had a culture that has unfortunately been lost in many ways. The... More

Albert Coffee is a very expirienced tourleader and archeologist, he does this tour already many years he told us. The tour is very interesting but could be better. In the visitorscenter is a building it would be nice if he could explain everything about the history before the walk begins with a film or a photopresentation instead of sitting on... More

This was a highlight of my month's visit to San Miguel de Allende - worth every penny of the $50 cost. Coffee was extremely knowledgeable about the archaeological history of Mexico and this particular site. The walk thru the high desert terrain was interesting and though the climb to the top of the pyramid is a bit of a challenge... More

We had a car to drive here which made it much easier. Somewhat expensive bus tours from San Miguel take one there and provide an english guide. If you want an in depth english tour that's probably the best (and only bet). Otherwise, it's Spanish. That was fine for me but some folks missed out. The tour guide was not... More

If you want to see pre-Columbian ruins without crowds and concessions, this is the place. Quiet, remote and totally approachable. The tour is great (in Spanish - you have to get your own guide in English) and thorough.

My husband an I lived the site and would have appreciated it much more with a bi- lingual guide even more. If you are not going to offer that as an option, even for a slightly higher fee. Don't require a group visit. We separated ourselves from the group upon entry and simply read the bilingual signs and enjoyed a... More
