It's hard to believe these ruins are still being uncovered! What a tremendous and historic addition to an already special area. The guides are very informative and it is a wonderful way to spend the day! Highly recommend. Call first for your reservation.

We loved this trip. There’s quite a bit of walking so wear sensible shoes! Tour unless previously organised is in Spanish. A must do activity.

First off, you may need reservations! We showed up at 9:30, on our own, and were told reservations are necessary. Thanks to a kind employee we slipped onto a bus right off because it had 2 seats available. Otherwise we were waiting until 2pm. The...More

We spent the morning with Albert at Cañada de la Virgen- we were only us and 1 other person so it was a really small and interactive experience- Albert’s personal touch and knowledge was outstanding- his passion and commitment to making mesoamerican history come alive...More

An hour car ride got us to this site. Unbelievable! Historically and architecturally fascinating. Were were able to walk around the grounds and climb the pyramid. On our walks, we could find broken pottery shards from long ago (which we left there). So beautiful and...More

We are two retired couples in our 70's. We have visited a number of archaeological sites in Mexico and around the world. This one is smaller, but in our opinion, one of the best we have experienced. There are two reasons we feel that way:...More

Over the years, we've explored Canada de la Virgen several times with family and friends. Though there are more impressively scaled pyramid sites in Mexico, these ruins are easily accessible, interesting, and make for a lovely half-day experience. Typically we explored the site on our...More

Fortunately we had a spanish speaking friend who was able to translate for us. Travelling on South African Rands makes the tour run by Albert Coffee "ridiculously expensive" (50-60 US incl transport and entry fee). We travelled in our own transport to site from San...More

Such an exciting adventure. Too bad the organizers do not have sufficient funds to improve this historic place. But with what they do have, it was worthwhile. I would suggest they have bathrooms closer to the path, bilingual guides, and some sort of assistance for...More
