There's nothing like El Jardin, San Miguel's main square, on a weekend evening - mariachi bands singing, stalls selling snacks and ice cream, children playing with balloon "rockets", families and friends strolling under the trees, perhaps a wedding party emerging from the Parroquia. In fact, it's a wonderful place to stroll or sit and people-watch any day of the week... More

Nice shady place to sit on a bench and watch the people.Only problem is there are many vendors and beggars all around this plaza and it gets a bit annoying at times, especially if you want to enjoy a cup of coffee or taco at an outdoor cafe here around the plaza. Mariachi's playing music, food and handicrafts being sold... More

Took a stroll during the early hours of the morning looking for a good coffee shop. The birds singing, the bells tolling, the smell of fresh bread and just absorbing the scenery of San Miguel can't be beat.

Something is always happening here in this Plaza....music, clowns, parades. Nice to just sit and eat an ice cream and people watch.

Lots of people. Lots of cheap vendors. Very busy area! The church is nearby which is beautiful! Several benches to sit and people watch!

Sit in the jardin with a coffee and watch the world go by. Great fun at anytime of day, but best in the evening when the mariachis come out. You can almost always find some cheap street food to enjoy. Many times they have cultural events in the jardin.

The historical central of San Miguel de Allende is without a doubt beautiful. Similar to other colonial cities in Mexico and Central America, it is full of both color and charm. El Jardín is the frosting on the cake! Located in front of the Parroquia de Saint Miquel Arcángel it is truly the centerpiece of the city. It's as if... More

This is a very happening place to be. Beautiful Fica trees trimmed perfectly. Be sure to go in the evenings, as Mariachi bands play on every corner. Food carts available in the evening, also. Lots of restaurants to choose from, as well.

This is a walk only portion of town and the place to meet or be seen. Buy the Attencion newspaper there every Friday - it will tell you exactly what is happening in town..Starbucks is there ( surprisingly low key in appearance) with wi-fi and other great coffee and food places nearby. Walk down any street of the Jardin and... More

Lots of great great galleries and restaurants. Wear comfortable walking shoes as the streets and sidewalks are uneven.
