Always crowded by tourists and San Miguel residents-amorous couples, families and lots of folks taking selfies. There are many vendors, lots of tacky fun souvenirs and even some refreshing drinks and snacks-even a gift shop or two...but the great view is the center-piece.

It is a hike from centro, but we thought it was worth it. Nice (uphill) walk through the neighborhood to a small terrace with a great view of SMA. If you time it right, you can stop for a beer on your way back down.

The view is awesome. The whole valley that is home to San Miguel is exposed to your view. Standing there you get a real feel for the dimensions of the town.

It takes a little effort to get there, but it's well worth it. The fastest way is to walk up Correo to the east until you reach the road that leads to Querétaro. Turn right, i.e., go south. It's not too far from there.

I walk a lot so it was great to be able to walk up the hill to El Mirador for the exercise alone. But, you will see cool little side streets, shops, and great views of the city. Worth your time.

I am so glad we did not miss El Mirador. We met some friends at Los Milagros at El Mirador (I highly recommend!). We arrived at six and had to leave because my daughter was not feeling well. Our friends sent me a picture of the city during the sunset and it was breathtaking!

This is not merely the spectacular view but rather there are many shops close by. Los Milagros has recently opened a restaurant just up the road with great, inexpensive real Mexican food in both high quality and large quantities for reasonable prices. Nice drink menu, too. I'm going back next week. Soon reservations will be essential.

From this scenic view, you can see all of San Miguel Allende. It's like telling a story in one single picture. You can also see San Arcangel from here, its really nice to come and spend time with family, friends and of course for romantic settings. I recommend it to see before you leave town, it'll make a good picture.
