My wife and I spent 4 hours listening, learning, and eating on this wonderful olive oil farm experience. We had a great time and returned back to our Airbnb with lots of delicious leftovers. An excellent day!

This was a REMARKABLE day & one that we will remember for our whole lives. Being immersed in Frank’s world of olive oil was such a treat. This was some of the best food we ate in all of Sicily & the backdrop of Amodeo’s farm was picturesque. Thank you for such a special time !

Enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Sicily at this family-owned olive farm and learn about its history and the work behind producing quality olive oil. The owner, Francesco, is very passionate about his business and extremely knowledgeable. You’ll see the acres of olive trees growing on the rolling hills outside Montevago, learn how the olives are removed and turned into oil. Plenty of olive oil samples, not to mention lots of food and wine! A unique experience not to be missed!

Spending the day with Francesco "Frank" Amodeo was a grand highlight of our 8 days in Italy. I truly understand the value and importance of fine EVOO. Beautiful farm and Frank is passionate, honest, and committed to his craft. Not to mention that he has a fantastic, warm personality with a great sense of humor. VERY welcoming. WE expected to receive a "snack" but what we got was an authentic variety of home cooked food straight from his kitchen. And he smothered it in his EVOO. Delicious!!! His olive oil is so outstanding that I purchased 28 bottles for gifts at Christmas. Frank shipped them to me at a very reasonable cost. I promise. Spend the day with Francesco and you will feel like you have experienced real life in Sicily and that you have met your long lost cousin!

This was an in-depth introduction into the world of olive oil, from considering how and where the olive is grown to tasting samples to help explain the characteristics of olive oil -- what makes one oil better than another -- to actually visiting the trees and harvesting a few dozen or more olives. Our small group of four were impressed with the excellent quality of the great variety of dishes provided for the lunch break we took during the four or more hours we were onsite. Local history, food, and well presented information -- one of our favorite events during our stay in Sicily.

This was the highlight of our trip to Sicily. Frank is the best of the best. He was an excellent host and became a fast friend. I’d love to go back just to visit and see the farm. Don’t miss this.

Loooong overdue review of Amodeo's (we thought we had done this the next day while in Palermo).

To be honest, we can't express how amazing this adventure was. Francesco was our host and he was beyond amazing. He was warm, inviting and charming, plus non-stop with the photos and we received each and every one we took and hold them as amazing memories.

We spent two weeks in Sicliy and Francesco's food was BY FAR the best meal we had the entire time in Sicily (and that is truly saying something)!! We happened to visit on my wife's birthday and when we mentioned it, Francesco seemed genuinely surprised and even had a little birthday treat prepared for her! The education we received from Francesco on how olives are grown, cared for, harvested and pressed was both educational and fun. We TRULY enjoyed our time with him at his family's home. Not once did we ever feel rushed or that we were putting him out. It truly felt like we were visiting family or long lost friends and that is an amazing experience and beyond rare.

Our only wish was that harvest had been going on so we could watch the olives being harvested and pressed (I'm not even sure if he has tours during that time, I know I would be too busy to do so) and we missed it by 3 days.

Francesco has turned my wife into an "olive oil snob" so now she turns her nose up (figuratively of course) at the oil we used to purchase and use. We have just purchased 6 liters from Francesco and feel it is worth every penny.

Honestly, do yourself a favor and make time to spend several hours with Francesco at Amodeo's. You will be happy you did and thank me for suggesting it.

This was the best olive farm tour and lunch ever! We had a wonderful time. Highly recommend. Bring a container for left overs as the food is delicious and plentiful. Would enjoy returning

We're back in the U.S. now, had this "experience" slightly over two weeks ago, and we're STILL talking about it!

I was at first leery about this event, since it was a bit pricey for us, but believed all the good reviews here. As others have said, this really was a highlight of our trip.

We were at the farm/adorable farmhouse for six hours, during which we watched Francesco transform from a nicely presented salesman/teacher to a casual friend. Francesco presented a grand spread of Sicilian savory treats and explained the history behind each one. We learned about the earthquake in the region. We listened to 60s & 70s Italian LPs. Francesco provided a lesson about olive oil in the dining room/classroom where he even used a pointer. (We still chuckle about that!)

There was so much food that it was packed up, and we ate it for at least two more meals. It was delicious. We also left with a wonderful gift and the olives we picked (no problem getting in through US Customs) which are now in brine. I'm sure that once we decide to try them in a few months, it will again remind us of our wonder time at Amodeo's farm.

What a wonderful afternoon spent with Francesco of Amodeo’s Olive Farm. We could not have had a warmer welcome from such a gracious host. He opened his family’s country home and presented us with multiple courses of homemade dishes. We had everything from sun dried tomatoes, olives, cheese and caponata to grilled sausage and pasta of course. We then took a walk through the olive grove where Francesco educated us on the farming and harvesting of olives. We even got to do a little manual labor first collecting olives by hand, as originally done, and then using the electric rake, which is today’s technique. This was followed by a blind olive oil tasting…how unique! It certainly helped develop our palates and gave us a far better understanding of what to look for when purchasing olive oil.

Amodeo’s EVOO is a staple in our home so how could we not come visit on our recent trip to Sicily. Such a memorable day for us and one experience we recommend you not miss while in Sicily. Grazie mille Francesco!
