Great cheese company

We had a great tour of the cheese factory and then a fantastic lunch. A must see when in the area. Don't forget to stop and have lunch as well

Very interesting tour of a company with great values
May 2019 • Friends
I learned so much about the cheese-making process on this tour. The factory is a family-run business, and you get a great sense of their philosophy and values on the tour. The guide talked not only about the process, but also how the company is run and how important every person's role is in the product. When I left, I felt that this is how all businesses should be run.The tour ended with a three course lunch that really showed off the excellent products. There are other options if you are traveling with children. I think children would find the tour interesting, maybe with a pizza to finish instead of the full meal. We did not need so much food, but how can you say no to a deconstructed cannoli?!

Authentic Italian Cheese Factory Tour & Tasting
Aug 2018 • Family
My family of four (kids ages 5 & 7) absolutely loved this tour of the Busti Family Cheese Factory (Dairy), which was about 30 minutes outside of Livorno, in Pisa, Italy. I had to search blogs to find this tour, but I'm sure glad I did. The kids loved gowning up in protective head gear and coverings before heading out on our private tour that lasted a little over one hour. We were able to see the entire process of how cheese is made once the locally sourced sheep's milk is delivered to the factory. From large vats of milk, the cheese is curdled then cut, salt is added, and then aged in a cool environment. Seeing the whole process was exciting, educational, and enlightening. We bought a couple of cutting boards and enjoyed the ham and cheeses we tasted. This was a truly unique experience that I would enthusiastically recommend!
